Nikki Redman was my tour guide and she knows and breathes Kangaroo Island being a born, raised and proud native. I sure noticed her PASSION in what she brought. She was Wikipedia as a human with its history, the lifestyle, where to go like Seal Bay where I got to witness seals that were free to do whatever they wanted, simply amazing! I just viewed their interactions with one another and it brought understanding life to its simplest and loving terms.
Then there was the moment we came across an Echidna that Nikki noticed walking nearby the street as she was driving with her radar eyes being able to see any life form that needs attention. That is an animal lover at its best! The Echidna, a descendant of the monotreme as noted by Nikki is the oldest mammal living as she mentioned that dating back to 120 million years!
Remarkable Rocks was a beautiful place she took me to with the natural rock formations from the creation of the ocean in which Australia was once underwater years ago. It was so colorful as I took countless pictures and videos.
Flinders Chase National Park with so scenic as I took more pictures and videos of the seals climbing rocks and this other area in the back that has a hole like background that you can see the ocean into. Spectacular!!
Finally, what everyone comes here for, the kangaroos and kualas. We saw them and I was able to find some myself on how Nikki described to me where and what to look for in seeing them. So magical!
Nikki did her job and much, much more because it didn’t look like it was work for her. That made me so proud to have her as a guide and as a new and only friend located on Kangaroo Island. Do not seek anyone else, but her if you can. She is also a professional photographer. That means that she knows where to find the right spots for your memorable picture and video taking.
Thank you!
Sincerely,

Our experience with KI Hire a Guide was absolutely 5 stars. We did the nocturnal tour with Luca and the day tour with Nikki, both of whom were fabulous. Nikki was very enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable, and so much fun. She helped us spot a lot of animals including an echidna, koalas in trees and on the ground, kangaroos, eagles, sea lions & pups. The tour included a fabulous lunch cooked on the barbecue. We would highly recommend requesting Nikki for a day tour - she is absolutely phenomenal. Luca is very quick to respond to questions and pays attention to all the details when organizing the tours. He was great at spotting nocturnal activity during our night tour (including an echidna, penguins, opossums, kangaroos, an owl, and tons of wallabies of course). 10/10 recommend KI Hire a Guide.

What a terrific day. Our guide Nikki Redman was so fun to be with She was knowledgeable and her love of the island and passion for the animals was obvious. We had five in the group and the excitement of the overseas family of seeing native Australian animals in the wild was infectious and made a great trip even better. Would definitely recommend this day trip especially if time is limited. Great memories. Thanks Niki and Luca

A big thank you to Nikki for the wonderful tour last Wednesday. This was the highlight of our trip to Australia - with a superb mix of local knowledge, passion for the island, huge respect for the ecosystem of the island - animals, bird and people - it made for an unforgettable day. We have so many wonderful memories and you really shared your love and excitement of the island from walking with sea lions to koala and echidna spotting it was a remarkable day. And thanks to Luca for all the organisation and a lovely lunch.

Our guide was Nikki Redman. And a more knowledgeable guide it would be hard to find. She answered everything. And is a marsupial EXPERT. She took us to the natural habitats of kangaroos and koalas. We got great photos. Nikki is a wonderful photographer herself. Plants, birds, seals, sea lions, beaches, rock formations. No negatives at all except the hot hot day and as we picked our day we can't complain. And she gave us an excellent lunch. It was a day to remember. Highly recommended.

Luca made our day on Kangaroo Island a special one! He met us at the airport in the morning and showed us around as much of the island as time permitted before our evening flight back to Adelaide. He introduced us to a place about which you could tell he was passionate, treating us to a memorable day full of interesting sights (sea lions, Admiral’s Arch, Remarkable Rocks…) PLUS a delicious barbecue lunch. AND we got to see koalas in the wild for the first time ever!

The tour began early in the day and didn’t return to the hotel until 5:30. Luca was our guide for the day, was very knowledgeable about the island and the animals. We stopped frequently all day long to see and take photos of all the must do places as well as several sites to see kangaroos and koalas. Luca provided coffee/tea and biscuits mid morning, water all day and a beautiful lunch where he grilled lamb and bread to go with the salad and couscous. The lemonade and orange juice were quite good as well. The small group was truly a small group with only five of us. Luca has a great sense of humor and treated us like family! Great tour!
