Itinerary
We offer three different times, each being 3 hours long. These trips provide the longest snorkel times at Kealakekua Bay with an average of an hour or more of snorkel time. This adventure promises views of 100’s of different varieties of tropical fish along with an occasional “Honu” (Hawaiian green sea turtle). Your Captain will share Hawaiian History and get you up and personal with sea caves and lava tubes. If you are new to or have never snorkeled before this is the ideal choice! Great for families with younger children or swimmers who aren’t certain if they are “seaworthy” enough for one of our longer trips.
7:00 a.m.: Beats the crowds to Kealakekua Bay and Captain Cook Monument. We are often the first boat in the bay and guests get time to enjoy the reef with limited interruption.
11:30 a.m.: Designed for those who want a later start and enjoy the warmest part of the day. With the sun fully overhead, you’ll get to see the reef and it’s most vibrant at Kealakekua Bay.
12:30 p.m.: Geared for those who want to escape the crowds. This lazy afternoon snorkel is a more relaxed adventure to the best snorkel spot along the coast.
Snorkel participants must have swim experience.

The crew were great! Very knowledgeable of the area. Saw so much fish, an eel & the best part was a pod of Dolphins!

An amazing excursion! Rob & Craig were great hosts and fabulous story tellers! The snorkeling was beautiful and many fish to see. The ride back was equally enjoyable seeing the lava tubes and celebrity vacation homes on the ocean. This was a safe and fun afternoon adventure. Well Done!

What an awesome day. We met our Capt. Dennis after a quick check in a gear fitting. Then off we went in a nice size inflatable sea sport boat. The sights, snorkeling and area history were amazing. What a day! Dolphin was the best. We will book them again for sure!

Great time at Captain Cook. You can't miss seeing lots of different kinds of fish. Tour guides were great and you had more than enough time to snorkel. On our way back we stopped at some old lava tubes and the red hill. Guides provided some historical insights on all locations. One note: if you get sea sick this smaller boat may not be for you. Overall a great experience.

It was fantastic to be the first people in the water. Lovely snorkeling, in a protected cove. A beautiful morning & we saw some dolphins as well. Friendly helpful staff, and good gear. Thanks!

The whole trip was amazing, but Chad was amazing at explaining the island, and showing us some of the shoreline

I was interested in this tour for a family trip in May/June. I called Dolphin Discoveries and spoke with Kahilah. She was awesome. Told me all about the tour and even gave me some ideas for local dining and other local activities. Greatly appreciated 😊

It my first time snorkeling and Shelly/Rob made the experience amazing! The views and stops they made along the way to the snorkel site and back while sharing the island history was fantastic. They really care for their guests and do an amazing job of making sure everyone is having a good time and is safe. This will absolutely be on top of my list of things to do when I come back! Mahalo!
