Luxor is a treasure trove of history! The sunrise tour of the Temple of Karnak was a magical experience, and the tombs in the Valley of the Queens offered a glimpse into the lives of ancient royalty.

I had visited the temple during the day. At night is seemed to be more intense in the dark with the music. I was glad I had first toured during the day so I was more familiar with things when we walked through at night. I learned more about the history during the light show.

I have no quibble with tour or guides - I have quibble with the actaul performance - its rubbish
Probably it should not be undertaken as its mostly int he dark on grounds which resemble a building site, so the elderly are certainly at risk - its unsafe and would not be allowed by the UK safety police for sure
The content of the show is pure rubbish any one of my four cats could have written it better - a significant opportunity to show the development of Karnak and Luxor temples gone amiss
some illuminated decoration on pillars where it appears not to be asscoiated with either Karnak or Luxor but egyptian history elsewhere
I was warned as I booked before I went, the language had changed from English to German, that did not put me off, I thought I knew the history of Karnak and Luxor temples in any language and the use of the translator device is awkward rather than difficult - the show is a missed opportunity in any langagaue - but if your stuck in a hotel on a rainy night ( it wasnt but was cold) this may be for you
no reflection on the guide at all - they were very sorry it was in german
