It was an amazing tour in Soweto with a local guide. The meeting point was easily reachable with an Uber, afterwards we walked around for 3 hours. There were lots of interesting information and also a museum was included. We finished with a local beer together with the guide which added a personal note to the tour. We recommend!

This was a bike tour around Soweto, with visits to the Mandela House and the devastating Hector Pieterson museum included. We biked around 10 miles/ 16km and our guide Phiwe have us an excellent introduction to the history and culture of Soweto. If you're in Joburg for more than a night, I HIGHLY recommend this - only the apartheid museum has been a more impactful experience to me as a foreign visitor to Joburg. Street art, culture, history and a bit of exercise - what more could you ask?

With escooters, our guides Phiwe and Mike could take us to interesting streets that buses cant access, we could get to places wiickly and it was really fun. I am 62 yet the escooter was easy to use. Our guides were from Soweto and knew many of the folks around Soweto, they showed us what a wonderful community vibe there is in Soweto. The cost was very reasonable, includes entry into Hector Pietersen museum and Nelson Mandela house. Phiwe and Mike were extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much from our visit, it was both fun and somewhat sobering when you learn the history of Soweto, so much connected to the history of South Africa and the Apartheid regieme. Despite the history and hardship, the community of Soweto continues to demonstrate its strength and character. We would certainly take this tour again, it was truly one of the highlights of our visit to South Africa.

Soweto is the most important tourist spot in Joburg but obviously I wouldn't be comfortable going there alone. That's where Tye came in! He showed me around and educated me while keeping me laughing the whole way, which was very impressive! There were plenty of highlights but nothing hit me harder than the Hector Pieterson Museum. It is a struggle to face that ugly past but I came away with a greater perspective of this country's progression, still with problems today but an incredible place all the same. If you're thinking of doing this tour, then go through this company for sure!
