During your safari in Mikumi National Park you will do a game drive and visit the wild animals up close. You will see the various ponds where you might catch animals drinking and hippopotamus or other inhabitans of the pond. During lunch you will remain close to nature with and incredible view.

Two days, day after day there were no flights. Don’t waste your time and money. Some people told that there were no flights for 3 days.

Almost no animals and no big five not at all. Just saw 8 different animals 🙄3 elephants, 2 lions, some zebra’s, some giraffe, a lot of impala’s , some monkeys, some hippo ‘s and some birds that s it…

The safari was an unforgettable experience. All arrangements worked flawlessly and we were taken care of throughout the day. Our safari guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We also managed to see all the animals we had expected to see (lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, zebras, antilopes, giraffes, buffalos and many kind of birds). A very successful trip!

I should have given this tour a 2-star rating. Except for this positive: my tour guide Wallace. Once I made it to the park for the tour, Wallace was friendly, entertaining and a joy to spend the day with. Another positive about the tour: the staff in the restaurant where lunch was served were nice and attentive.
The negatives: organized chaos at the airport for check-in for the flight. The lady who checked me in was nice and helpful. But, the other staff at the airport seemed disconnected and uninterested. My group was called and were going into the airport's security checkpoint. The lady who checked me in, realized I hadn't been called and she came for me and told me to "follow the group" (pointing to the group currently going through security). Once I cleared security, I was told to have a seat and then no other guidance...
The safari started later in the morning than I thought (my fault, not the company's). The first half of the safari was good. We saw PLENTY, PLENTY impalas...two lions and PLENTY impalas. Lunch was nice.
The safari after lunch was...a waste of time and extremely disappointing. Our guide tried hard to find animals for us to see but I'm certain the heat impacted it. Not the company's fault; but part of the frustration with the safari beginning so late in the morning. (I've previously attended two safaris and we left at 4:00 a.m. for this very reason).
The last hour of the tour felt like we were just slowly driving around to waste time until it was time to board our flight for the return flight. I was relieved once I boarded my flight that this tour was over. This tour was seriously overpriced for what was delivered. Seriously overpriced!

We booked this Safari as a couple for a trip on 12/26/2023. In total we were absolutely satisfied with this decision.
The trip was organized in an outstanding way - great communication in advance and during the trip. All relevant timings were excellent on time and personnel were available on the airport also. Flight, tour in the National Park and flight back went without any issues or unclear situations.
The wild animals we saw were very close to the roads or rather near by - maybe due to Christmas they were all around us.
From our side this trip is absolutely recommendable to other interest people. But everyone should be aware that animals are not living there for pictures and maybe they will hide themselves also.

We booked this trip via our hotel, it worked out cheaper than online and if the weather prevented us from flying, we would have got our money back. Luckily, it was raining in Zanzibar but dry in Tanzania so we were good to go. We had a pick up from the hotel at 5:00 to take us to the airport, due to the weather, our 7:00 flight was delayed to 8:00. Flying into the safari park, straight onto a jeep and the adventure begins.
It doesn't matter how many safaris or countries you see wild animals in their natural habitats, it's always mesmerising. We were lucky to see the elephants, giraffes, baby warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, birds, gazelles, wildebeest and a pride of lionesses. The driver/guide was knowledgeable and explained as we drove through. The included lunch was plentiful and satisfying.
There was further exploration after lunch before our flight back at 16:00. The pilot was very friendly, informative and flew smoothly, especially through heavy rain, which is why the flight back took a little 80 mins to get back.
Really well worth a trip.

I didn’t enjoy my experience. I stayed in stone town and they picked me up at 5am. The day before I told other tour guides about my pick up time and they all said it was too early. I agreed because we drove 10 mins to the airport and I had to wait at the cafe until my 7:30 flight. Very minimal instructions besides stand here to go thru security and it was a surprise I got on the right plane. Landed at the park and again no instruction so we just walked to the trucks and this is where it really when it went downhill. You find the person with your name on a piece of paper and get in. I found my name and asked the driver could I go to one of the other trucks and they said no. I grab a seat and wait. The driver comes and asks me to verify if I’m on the list. I confirmed it again. We wait for 10 more minutes and we still haven’t taken off. Another customer asks why we are waiting. They overbooked the trip and couldn’t figure out how to get a couple seated. So their solution was making me sit in the passenger seat which no other person on any other truck had to do. Then they came with the list and asked me to verify again as if I somehow didn’t know my name. There were multiple mostly empty trucks with other companies and I’m sure they could have just asked them to take one more. It was a horrible spot to sit and the driver’s head was in my way most of the time. I have multiple pics and videos with his head in the way. I had to stand up to see a lot. Then a elephant got mad and looked like it was about to run into our vehicle. The driver goes to take off and he can’t because the car is hot wired. Yes hot wired meaning he is twisting wires together to start it. He gets it started and tries to take off fast and it goes a few feet and stops. After three times it finally works and he races off. I was so ready for the experience to be over. And I did inform the company via WhatsApp that I didn’t enjoy the experience and they didn’t seem to really care.

This was the best experience/day we had on our trip! We decided to book through trip advisor just to make sure everything was safe. Considering that we didn’t pay straight away, the company contacted us immediately after we made our booking to take all our details i.e. where we were staying etc and the names and details of the parties attending. The person we were communicating with via WhatsApp was really helpful. Payment was taken approximately 3 days before we did the Safari. We were picked up from our hotel at a time confirmed by the company. They message you a couple days before with the itinerary and also your flight ticket confirmation ( this is not your ticket as you get that at the airport). We arrived at Zanzibar airport to take a local flight to Mikumi. It took approximately 40 minutes. On arrival we had our Safari guide waiting to take us to start the Safari. Luckily, we got to see all of the animals. The tour guide was really helpful as well as the driver. We stopped for lunch at approximately 1:00pm and after continued the tour and headed back to get our flight at approximately 3:30/4:00pm. It is definitely worth the money especially if you just want to do it for one day. I hope this has helped. Get booking!
