Stop At: Umbrella Street, Calle San Felipe, Puerto Plata 57000 Dominican Republic
Visit the very heart of the colonial city of Puerto Plata: main square with the Saint Philip cathedral and colourful victorian wooden houses around. Stroll through the famous Umbrella Street and take some funny pictures in the Dona Blanca Passage. Take your time to drink a coffee, beer or fresh coconut water. Find some souvenirs if you wish.

Stop At: Malecon Puerto Plata, Malecon, Puerto Plata 57000 Dominican Republic
Have a walk along the famous seaside boulevard - Malecon. Have a look on the fishing boats, amphitheatre right on the Atlantic Ocean and historic lighthouse. Visit the Spanish fortress of Saint Philip from XVI century. Until recently it was a dark political prison during the dictatorship of General Trujillo.
Eat a real dominican lunch (included): so called "bandera dominicana" - "dominican flag". It's meat or fish with rice and beans. Soft drinks included.

The Puerto Plata tour was amazing! We had a large group (7 folks) so we’ve opted for a private tour. Antonio was the best tour guide, always patient and flexible with our needs. He was super knowledgeable of the area and history and was even receptive of countering opinions. My family is from Dominican Republic but we’ve been living in the U.S. for years so we knew the culture and history well. Having a tour guide who was receptive to differing opinions was a plus! Diana was also super helpful during the prep process, and was great in communicating our needs during pickup. She even provided a discount after we’ve added a last minute person to our group. I highly recommend this tour (and Antonio) to anyone looking to tour Puerto Plata.

This was Unique experience. I am so glad we were not afraid to go outside of the ship port . We were welcomed as soon as we walked outside the port and followed instructions that were emailed to us . Bring your cash to pay !! Our guide Winston was amazing. We had someone in our party with Some limitations and he was very considerate. We never felt rushed and he was always answering our questions and providing us with history about island and stops we made . We saw historical spots , beautiful water views, amazing flowers and the top thing was the tram ride down out of the clouds. Hope you enjoy as much as we did . Bring a snack with you .

Diana and Antonio were amazing tour guides. They were both so warm, fun and knowledgeable. We spent the entire day on a private tour, seeing sights all over Puerto Plata from the cable car up Isabelle Mountain, to rum tasting, chocolate and historic venues!
I feel like we were with friends all day.

The cable car is definetly worth doing. The rum tasting was a good experience. The chocolate factory is just a store where you can buy chocolate made on the island. The church is small and just ok. The fort was fun to look at, it overlooks Luperon Bay where the cruise ships dock. Our guide, Franklin, was friendly but late picking us up and wasn’t very knowledgeable about the sites we were seeing. The lunch experience was bad. It was a buffet in the lobby area of an office plaza. The food was cold and drink selection was water, coke, or sprite. Other than having a person knowledgeable where the sites were, an unimpressive tour.

Was a perfect way to get to visit Puerto Plata. Having a private tour allowed us to make adjustments such as the cable car wait ended up being extra long because of 5 cruise ships in port, but the cable car was important to us so we were able to work with the tour guide who was extremely flexible with us. Eddie was fantastic!! He seemed to really have a passion for the island and everything to learn about it. He considered our needs, kept us informed and worked great within the time delays and coordinating the rest of the tour. The ONLY negative was on us needing to return to port an hour earlier than plan (which was 100% on us), because he was a real pleasure to be with!! Highly recommend!

Well worth the $.Our guide Diana was amazing. There was only the three of us on the tour so it was quite intimate , low key and no pressure to keep on a specific schedule. What a great day we had visiting at all the beautiful places.
