On this ranch located close to the Pacific Ocean shores, you will go hiking with a Mexican donkey in a attempt to recreate how the older generations in Mexico used to transport big cargos of food and water.

You'll begin by being introduced to your donkey as it will be handed to you. From then on you will have the control of it On the way up while hiking, you'll have the chance to feed the donkey and even interact with it. Your guide will take you to different attraction points where you'll have the chance to take pictures and walk for a while for wonder.

Once it is time to go, your guide will let you know. Enjoy the walk and marvel at the incredible and unique views. After the tour, you'll head back to your hotel.

Note: The ranch's mission is to transform the quality of life of donkeys and also bring them close to people so they enjoy this particular, intelligent, curious and loving animal. Pros: - Good views (if your donkey lets you) - Nice and Friendly Guides Cons: - Our tour did not happen during sunset (it was around an hour beforehand). - A couple people in our group were not able to see the views at the peak of the hike because our Donkeys were stubborn and would not move. - There are not snacks provided for humans, I assume the snacks listed were meant for the donkeys.

The tour was unique, but it was really more getting dragged by donkeys on the beach at sunset. The tour is operated by Rancho Carisuva, which also operates several other types of tours from their ranch. The ranch is located about 30 minutes northwest of Cabo San Lucas. It is on a dirt road, west of Hwy 19. Look for Amigos Activities as you are heading north to the Turnaround to head south on Hwy 19. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the tour overall, and liked getting to see all of the animals at the ranch.

WALKING WITH DONKEYS… what else do you need in life? Such an amazing experience. Four of us went and we all gained a donkey best friend… each with different personalities. We will all remember this experience for the rest of our lives… and knowing that our trip was helping save the donkeys is just an added bonus. Thank you again for such a great experience.

We are huge animal lovers and there is nothing that sounds more fun to us thank hiking with donkeys. The experience, however, exceeded our expectations. Sophia and Carla (the people) and Jennifer and Phillipe (the donkeys) were all a delight. Sophia and Carla were passionate, knowledgeable, and so caring. We loved them. Jennifer and Phillipe had strong opinions in the most adorable way. 10/10 experience. If you are on the fence, just book it if you are down for an adventure. Make sure the bring cash to tip the guides!

It was an amazing time! The guides led us on a gorgeous hike along the playa and we enjoyed having Jennifer (the donkey) along. She was so sweet and very loveable.

This is quite the little adventure! If you are looking to laugh and experience something unique, this is your tour. If you haven’t experienced donkeys before, beware. They are stubborn and goofy and they are not going to act like a well seasoned trail horse. That said, they’re most definitely going to keep you laughing and on your toes! My husband and I really enjoyed this experience overall. The donkeys were chosen by their keepers based on which donkeys were eager to come with us. I liked that. Let the burros choose. We were told the Burris were all rescues so that was really nice too.The staff were kind and funny and took tons of photos of our experience. We hiked through a short bit of desert and then onto the coastline. When we arrived back to Rancho Carisuva, we were fed quesadillas with fresh avocado and given shots of Mescal!

Such a fun and scenic hike!!. BEST food, Mezcal and company we had on any tour in cabo. Roger was the perfect combo of fun, informative and professional. Daniel was also a gracious donkey rangler. 10/10 recommend. Do the early tour and you still have rest of day to enjoy pool/beach

I went here with 2 middle school aged boys and a high school aged girl and my girl friend. I had heard about this place when I was at Baja Brew since they shared with me that they donate to this animal rescue- and they look after the donkeys who have been abandoned or surrendered. Roger from Barcelona was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the plants and the animals. He and his girlfriend were absolutely lovely- they are volunteers at the Ranch, (this means they live off of your tips so please make sure to tip well!!) The donkey who came with us was Rufio- he was so sweet and he had a little tag along friend who followed us the whole journey. Halfway through Roger let me hold Rufio, and I barely had to tug- he was so good at just following me through the remainder of the hike. definitely wear closed toe shoes- you will be walking through a sandy area with cactuses followed by a hike up some steep terrain and then back down along the ocean shore. They were so lovely and they made us a quesadilla meal with cerveza after we got back.

We were picked up from our resort and transported to the ranch where the donkeys and horses live. The landscape is almost untouched. The desert was interesting to walk through with our donkey, Anita. The hike is not challenging but there is some uphill walking. The weather is hot, it is a desert after all! Midway through the tour, we stopped on the beach along the Pacific Ocean for a light lunch. The ocean was ferocious and loved seeing the massive waves crash onto shore. The trip is good for people who enjoy animals.

If you love animals and would enjoy an upclose and personal encounter with a donkey- this is a great activity. Pros: you get to hike out to the Pacific Ocean with a donkey and a guide. The donkey walks along on a lead. Its like walking a huge dog. Our donkey, Anita, was very sweet and gentle. My 12 year old felt very comfortable walking with her. Our guide, Oscar was very informative about the fauna and local culture. Free beach bag size lockers. They seem to take good care of the animals- donkeys and horses for horseback rides. They dont appear to be exploiting the animals. many of the donkeys and horses are rescues. they looked much better than the horses available for rent on our hotels beach Cons: You likely will need to share the shuttle with tourists from other hotels. Our hotel in Cabos del San Jose was only about 20-30 min away, but because we had to get other tourists at other hotels, took an hour trip.
