Shamier is an amazing hiker and guide, he is very experienced and warm-hearted, a very nice, interesting and positive person, I really enjoyed spending time with him. He was happy to adjust the hike to my preferences as I enjoy a fast and sporty hike. We chatted the whole way, which added a lot to the experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend Shamier as a hiking partner and guide. Thanks again!

Shamier was our guide and he was outstanding. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and made our hike up lions head unforgettable. He even made us a nice cup of tea with biscuits which was such a lovely gesture!

Lion's Head hike is always a pleasure, but you can make most of it if you let Shamier show you its beauties. He is really attentive to your needs on an individual and on the group level as well, and as he takes only small groups (up to 4 people), you can be always sure that you are supported. We joined him and a solo traveler as a couple and immediately bonded as he was kind, humble, informative and positively encouraging -- knew how to motivate our solo traveller, but let us go ahead when the pace was too slow for us, just to meet them again around the corner again! Shamier has a cheerful and peaceful character you can rely on and have interesting chats with, moreover, he knows the mountains and loves showing them to his visitors. Ah, and on top there's a treat that awaits you, while you sit back, relax and enjoy your African sunset! I enjoyed our hike together lots!!

Shamier was absolutely incredible. He was so kind, and knowledgeable about everything, from the hike to all the plant life and everything about cape town. He surprised us with some wonderful coffee and cakes at the summit and took care to take wonderful photos throughout. He is a very genuine and caring person and made our day very special. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend.

This experience with Shamier was amazing. Not only was he a great guide, ensuring my safety and making sure I was comfortable, he also genuinely became someone I enjoyed conversing with and getting to know as a friend. He is down to earth, insightful, and knowledgeable. A genuine person that you love to meet while traveling. I had already done this hike a few years ago, alone, but during the day. I wanted to experience this again but at sunset and I was told I should be with someone or have a guide as it might be a little dangerous in the dark etc. So I opted with Shamier because of his rave reviews. When we got there at around 5am, it was VERY windy. But we decided to just try and see how far we can go. At one point we had to backtrack because it seemed a bit dangerous and we waited and had coffee, chatted about life. Once it seemed like the wind died down, we went ahead. The wind picked back up and he asked me if I wanted to continue, no pressure. I adamantly said yes let's go! We made it up to the summit despite the gusting wind, climbing up the rocks as fast as we could so as not to be blown off, and the end result was breathtaking. I recommend this sunrise hike to everyone and Shamier would be the best person to enjoy this with. I will definitely keep in touch with him and will always remember this day!

When we first met Shamir, something told me this trek up Lion’s Head would be spiritual, as well as a challenging adventure, and I was right. We booked a sunset hike, but we were concerned about a cancelation because of the ridiculous wind velocity we had been having 3 days prior. But we were determined to make a good it and Shamir was theee for it as well. As soon as we got to the base of the trail, the wind was even crazier than we imagined, but off we went. Shamir said we were making really good time and we would have about an hour at the peak before the sun sets. If you’re been on this hike, you know it’s more challenging and more “technical” as you get closer to the top - it’s much more vertical climbing as you go. We were surprised to find out that Shamir has been a guide for only a few months, but we felt confident with him regardless. However, as we neared the peak, we started to experience the most enormous gusts of wind I couldn’t have even imagined I’d be exposed to. Not even in my years of living through hurricanes did I think I’d be vulnerable to gale force winds like these. Shamir stayed close and he advised and assured us as we went along, stopping and crouching as we were assaulted by (what we later discovered were) approximately 50+ mph prolonged wind gusts. I could only describe the noise like a sustained angry deafening roar of a train or tornado. The three of us crawled to a rock that partially blocked the winds, and we sat and discussed our plan of action. We were so close. Shamir said less than 100m from the top. But he told us as we climb it gets much narrower with a greater chance of the accelerating winds to catch us off-guard. And then there would be the challenge of navigating our way back down under the same or worse conditions in the dark. Under his advisement, and amidst our concern and disappointment, we decided to save the climb to the peak for another day. Spending this time with Shamir was nonetheless tremendously valuable to us. We feel that, not only did we meet a passionate and fantastic guide, we discovered a very rare, special person with whom we will continue to plan future adventures with.

We did the sunrise hike and it was absolutely stunning, can highly recommend Shamier, it was pitch black on the climb up and he made us feel completely safe and comfortable, he provided a lift and headtorches, he is so knowledgeable on the history of Capetown and the mountains and environment and we learnt so much. He took lovely candid photos while we soaked in the sunrise and it was such a magical experience. It wouldn't of been the same without him. 5 starts and highly highly recommend!!!!
