Itinerary
Enjoy a basic surfing or stand-up paddling lesson tailored for beginners. Your instructor will provide all the necessary equipment, allowing you to focus on having fun and catching waves.
There are three options available for your lesson:
• Private surfing or paddleboard lesson: One-on-one lesson between you and your instructor (1 hour)
• Small-group surfing or paddleboard lesson: Learn in a small group no larger than 4 students (1 hours)
• Small-group stand-up paddleboarding lesson only: Learn in a small group no larger than 5 students (1 hour)

It is highly recommended that children (minimum age is 5) and individuals with special needs choose the private surfing lesson. All participants must be able to swim. Surf lessons are very popular and commonly sell out on Oahu, so book now to avoid disappointment!
Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your timely return to the Honolulu port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. My hubby wanted to try surfing. We used Surf HNL. The staff was very friendly, even had chairs set up for the non surfing family member watching.

Great experience for my daughter . It was a graduation gift for her. She had a blast . Everyone there was great!! Wish pictures were less expensive , prople eoukd buy more! Overall great and professional team !!

They're a well organized team. I arrived at the beach on time, they asked me what my goal for the lesson was, I signed the waiver, put on my gear and I was working with Namaka in no time. We had a quick session to form correct habits on the board and then we were in the water. I was successful in getting up and surfing a few times. Namaka was good at pointing out the things I was forgetting and made sure that we were in the right place to catch the good waves. This was my first time riding on green-water waves but they weren't intimidating. When I got back, there were pictures and they wanted to know if I had accomplished my goal. I had set the bar low by stating I wanted to have fun, so I had no trouble saying yes.

We had a great time, my rashguard (they lent me) got torn to shreds and they were super easy going about it which was nice, our girls’ instructors had them surfing within 10 minutes, I will do better next time, my instructor was very patient and tried very hard for me. A great workout and I want to return and try again!

We had three surfers, each with a private lesson (so individual instructor per person). The private lesson and surfing was awesome! They were very good about explaining what to do and how to do it and everyone was able to surf during the hour. Our instructors did a great job getting us where we needed to be and encouraging us throughout the process. It was exhausting (make sure you're in shape!), but so worth it and definitely a bucket list item!

Went with my son and we both had a great experience. We got excellent instruction on land and even more so out in the water. The instructors were helpful providing ongoing coaching as well as wave selection and a little boost to catch the waves.
We were exhausted so the instructors grabbed our boards with their toes to help pull us back out and catch more waves.
We had a great morning and would highly recommend them. Will definitely use them again when we return to Oahu.

Fantastic! I was a bit nervous for my 4 kids but didn’t need to be. The staff were excellent, positive and encouraging. They did a great job and helped my kids feel comfortable and have a great experience. Beautiful spot; good waves. Totally recommend.

We did private surfing lessons at Kapolei with SurfHNL. We are first time surfers. The instructors were patient and pleasant and helped both of our sons get up several times. They actually spent more time with our sons than we had paid for, making sure they each had a great experience. SurfHNL was clear in its communications to us regarding time and location. We’d book with them again anytime!

Easy access but nearly private beach. Nice waves for beginners and not intimidating. The instructors were very personable.
