Itinerary
Jump on the Surf School Bus and we will get you from wherever you're staying in Waikiki to the beach and up and riding! We offer a complimentary courtesy shuttle. Our knowledgeable staff will meet you at one of our convenient hotel pick-up locations. You’ll be stoked to ride in our air-conditioned, clean, easy-to-spot yellow Surf School Bus or white shuttle with our logo on the side. After our friendly staff introduce themselves, we will shuttle you to our Ohana Surf Center located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott. From there you will get checked-in, geared up, will watch our safety briefing and then will be shuttled to the beach!
Once by the ocean, you will meet your instructor and talk about your previous experience, swimming strength or any other concerns or conditions, then we’ll have you walk your high quality lesson boards to the beach. When you’re comfortable and ready, we leash ourselves to the board and into the water we go!
After the lesson, you’ll be taken back to the Ohana Surf Center where you can check out photographs, videos, or buy some merch for yourself or friends. Then after your purchases are made, we drive you back to one of our convenient drop off locations.

We offer courtesy pickup from Waikiki from our four standard pickup locations 10-45 minutes prior to your lesson time:
(1) Ilikai Hotel
(2) Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador Hotel
(3) Don Ho Lane Van Depot
(4) Hyatt Regency
For customers staying at the Ala Moana Hotel, Hale Koa Hotel, Kahala Hotel and Resort, The Ritz Carlton or The Ka La'i Waikiki Beach, we may be able to arrange a special pickup closer to the hotel with a notification call or email at least 24 hours in advance.
If either the customer or accompanying guest has a handicap or injury and needs to arrange a special pickup, please call or email us with 24 hours notice and we are more than happy to come directly to your hotel.

3 person minimum to book. All students must be 13 or older and able to swim.
If any participants have any medical conditions or injuries that we should be aware of please advise the staff ahead of time.
If any participants cannot swim please advise the staff ahead of time as a private lesson may be recommended.
Please come prepared for the lesson by wearing your bathing suit, bringing a towel and making sure to apply sunscreen ahead of time.
If you are prone to seasickness, you may want to take a remedy you are accustomed to using about an hour before the lesson (talk to your doctor for recommendations).
All of our written materials are also available in Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. We will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee, Japanese, Korean, Spanish or Chinese speaking-instructors without enough advance notice.
Complimentary transportation is available from select locations in Waikiki. Exact pick-up location and time will be emailed to you by the supplier. If you do not receive these details 24 hours prior to your lesson, please contact Ohana Surf Project.

I felt so looked after by Cole. He made sure to coach me every step of the way, celebrating when I actually rode a wave in while standing! The entire crew was involved by either coaching, taking pictures, or making sure folks who needed extra assistance got it.

Great service. Picked us up when they said without any problems. Instructors were so chill and easy going. I was new to surfing and had an amazing time. Was safe and they had a great rotation to make sure everyone got waves. They take videos and photos so you can decide to buy those after. Overall would totally recommend for anyone trying to have a good time surfing for the first time.

A memorable experience with my kids! My teenage boys picked it up quickly, catching many waves. As a beginner, I was nervous. But my instructor, Kevin, positioned me perfectly and before long, even I was standing up, riding waves. The entire staff was friendly. A well run operation. They took pictures and video so we can share our experience with family and friends. A vacation highlight for sure!

I went out with Ohana Surf Project twice. Both times I got exceptional advice that helped me improve my surfing. And, I was able to ask lots of questions about etiquette. I have had lessons with other companies in Waikiki, which were also great, but this was just a really supportive group of instructors. And they make it fun!

Surfing is really fun, even for beginners like us. The Instructors are really kind and Look after you. After a short safety instructions and short training on land you head out for waves.
The used Equipment is in good condition and we would book again.

An awesome family surfing experience well worth the money. Our guide, Kevin, actually taught us what to do rather than just pushing our board into the wave and hoping we’d stand up. From pickup at our hotel to getting dropped off at the end, great communications and Aloha spirit throughout!

Those guys and gals had it going on! Pick up to drop off, and everything in between, went smooth. My family of 6 adults was a fantastic time had by all! We all surfed without issue (some falls here and there of course!) The waves were just right. It was a perfect spot for beginners. Kevin had a great sense of humor and was very helpful in getting us up and surfing! Romeo helped guide us in and out and Tim took some awesome video and pictures of my family that we will treasure forever! All in all it was an awesome experience with great success!! Would highly recommend this lesson to anyone.
