Itinerary
Jump on the Surf School Bus and we will get you from wherever you're staying in Waikiki to the beach and up and riding! We offer a complimentary courtesy shuttle. Our knowledgeable staff will meet you at one of our convenient hotel pick-up locations. You’ll be stoked to ride in our air-conditioned, clean, easy-to-spot yellow Surf School Bus or white shuttle with our logo on the side. We will then shuttle you to our Ohana Surf Center located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott. From there you will get checked-in, geared up, will watch our safety presentation and then will be shuttled to the beach for some surfing!
Once by the ocean, you will meet your instructor and talk about your previous experience, swimming strength or any other concerns or conditions, then we’ll have you walk your high quality lesson boards to the beach. When you’re comfortable and ready, we leash ourselves to the board and into the water we go!
After the lesson, you’ll be taken back to the Ohana Surf Center where you can check out photographs, videos, or buy some merch for yourself or friends. Then after your purchases are made, we drive you back to one of our convenient drop off locations.

Traveler pickup is offered
We offer courtesy pickup from Waikiki from our four standard pickup locations 10-45 minutes prior to your lesson time:
(1) Ilikai Hotel
(2) Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador Hotel
(3) Don Ho Lane Van Depot
(4) Hyatt Regency
For customers staying at the Ala Moana Hotel, Hale Koa Hotel, Kahala Hotel and Resort, The Ritz Carlton or The Ka La'i Waikiki Beach we may be able to arrange a special pickup closer to the hotel with a notification call or email at least 24 hours in advance.
If either the customer or accompanying guest has a handicap or injury and needs to arrange a special pickup, please call or email us with 24 hours notice and we are more than happy to come directly to your hotel.

2 participant minimum required to book. Participants must be 13 or older and able to swim.
If any participants cannot swim, please advise the staff ahead of time as a private lesson may be required.

These lessons are a ratio of 1 instructor for 2 participants.
Please come prepared for the lesson by wearing your bathing suit, bringing a towel, and making sure to apply sunscreen ahead of time.
All of our written materials are also available in Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. We will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee, Japanese, Korean, Spanish or Chinese speaking-instructors without enough advance notice.
Complimentary transportation is available from select locations in Waikiki. Exact pick-up location and time will be emailed to you by the supplier. If you do not receive these details 24 hours prior to your lesson, please contact Ohana Surf Project.

Super great. Romeo, Miguel, and Jaydin worked hard to make our activity successful. Instruction was perfect for different abilities. Strong swimmer recommended.

The semi-private lesson was a great experience for us as beginners - a teen and an adult with an individual instructor as part of a larger group. The instructor was patient and made things fun, the location was beautiful, and the set up worked smoothly.

We are a couple in our 50’s. We were not sure this was right for us. We are so glad we did it! It was amazing, so fun! The instructors make it way less physically draining then it would be doing it yourself. Both of us got up and we have great pictures to prove it!

Had originally tried to book surf lessons with another company but they wanted payment AND tips paid prior to our arrival to the Island. Not a good feel so cancelled. Searched reviews and found Ohana Surf on the Viator site (which I love).
We were a family of 4 adults. Booking and payment was super easy and communication prior to our arrival from Viator and Ohana was constant and easy to understand.
We were all impressed with the entire process from check/in (at the Marriott Hotel) all the way to checkout (review of pics and videos). Each group had a private instructor. We had (Andrew/aka Jacob) as well as a celebrity instructor (Marcus) for our party of 4. We made so many runs we were exhausted and ready to quit before our time was up. Not sure what took us so long but so glad our first time taking surf lessons was with Ohana Surf. Thanks Ohana! We are officially addicted to surfing.❤️

If you are looking for solid, knowledgeable surf instructors Ohana surf project has them! They were amazing and very patient. Highly recommend this company!! Amazing time and definitely a lot of good take aways!

Confident and seemingly experienced instructors live up to the reviews of getting kids up and riding wave after wave. The GoPro videos and photos in the phot package were also amazing. My child wants to go back again and again! Kevin and Miguel both delivered positive and successful experiences for her. Mahalo!
