Itinerary
Join a bucket-list African adventure. We'll be hiking to the top of Table Mountain via a lessor known and more adventurous and rugged route called India Venster. This route involves scrambling up a more off the beaten path. Once on top we make our way towards the upper Cable Car Station where we take the cable car back down (if open).
Private Option Available which includes transport and allows for route and start time flexibility in consultation and exclusive guide.
If the cable car is open, we will then make our way to the Cable Car Station and view sites before going back down with the cable car (ticket fare not included - if the cable car is closed, we will hike down a common route)
We will also access some off the beaten track viewpoints with stunning photo opportunities. There will be some steep/exposed sections along the route. I will be assisting you with scrambling up these steep parts if required.
You would need to be comfortable with heights and be relatively fit. The hike up is steep and rocky going for at least 3.5 hours.

I booked a Table Mountain sunrise hike with The Cape Town Local and it was amazing. Despite some messy communication on my part and a last minute change of plans/dates, Tauriq was very flexible and made sure we could still go.
In the morning we were met by our guide Codi who took us up the India Venster trail. We weren’t really aware of the level of difficulty of the hike, and one of us decided to go back down. Codi made sure she knew where to go and meet up with us at the top.
The hike itself was beautiful with amazing views of Cape Town. There was plenty of time to take a rest and look around and to really take it all in. Watching the sun come up through the venster was something I will never forget and will recommend to anyone who wants to hike table mountain to do. Plus, if Codi is your guide, he will know how to capture the moment beautifully on camera!
The hike had a few climbing/scrambling parts during which Codi made sure I got up the mountain safely. He knows a lot about the mountain and Cape Town and is great company to hike and have a conversation with.
So if you’re up for a little climbing/scrambling challenge with beautiful views and a great and knowledgeable guide, for sure go on this tour! This has been the highlight of my brief Cape Town visit, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I can’t say enough about my amazing guide today, Kurt Krieger&Trail-SA wait.sa, who took me and another hiker up India Venster trail on Table Mountain. I have always had a deep seated, petrified fear of heights and would freeze if anything became too steep. I conquered that fear today, thanks solely due to Kurt’s encouragement, strength,capability, knowledge, focus, ability to make me so comfortable, forget where I was and follow his precise directions. Any one who has any trepidation about hiking and heights will find a hiking guide that you can absolutely trust your life with. Thank you Kurt, from the bottom of my heart… You helped me conquer my fear and have done wonders for my confidence where it comes to hiking and climbing. I will be back and will only trust Kurt to take me on these types of adventures ever again!!

Our guide Miles was really really good. Very knowledgeable have lots of passion for the job. Would recommend Miles and the hike was difficult but worth the handwork.

I don't know where to start.
This was not just a highlight of Cape Town but of our lives.
Firstly Miles the guide was absolutely superb. Super friendly, calm, reassuring and incredibly skilled at mountaineering as well as photography. Amazing photos from him. I can't say enough positive things about him.
As for the hike/climb be aware it is challenging and somewhat scary in places. You will need a good base fitness and no fears of heights or any other possible issues. That being said, it was truly unforgettable and one of the best things we've ever done. If you're not afraid to challenge yourself somewhat, then I highly recommend this. We will certainty use this company again next time we're in Cape Town for Lion's head.

We hiked up the top with a local guide. It was such a wonderful experience. We got the cable car down from the top. HIGHLY recommended

I definitely recommend this hike, and make sure to do it with Shamier as your guide. The mountain is really technical-good for hike lovers. I enjoyed how Shamier ensured we used our own pace, and how interactive he was, right from the time he picked us up!

We did the adventurous hike accompanied by our guide Miles. He was quite patient and provided direction where need in a laid back way, not overbearing. The hike itself was moderately strenuous and included a number of scrambles, and would not be suitable for someone without a reasonable base amount of fitness. Better to go earlier in the morning before sunrise if at all possible.
