We pride ourselves on being one of the best tea manufacturers in Sri Lanka and awarded for being one of the largest producers of Ceylon tea. Surrounded by lush green tea fields, the factory offers a number of activities, from trekking through lush green tea gardens, tea picking, and learning the tea manufacturing process to finally savoring your own cuppa to complete the tea journey.

If you are in Ella you must visit the tea factory.
It’s really interesting to see how our tea becomes tea.
Mister Siva made the experience really entertaining and easy to understand. He really is the master of tea with his 40 years of experience.

Interesting tour understanding the planting, growing and then harvesting tea
Followed by a tasting, explaining of the different teas
Our guide, Lahiru spoke excellent English and we enjoyed the tour

Good fun for a short trip out of Ella. Short but interesting talk about the tea, the leaves and the methods.
Picking the tea was great fun and eye opening.
Easy to take a Tuk-Tuk (15mins) there and back for around $10

We had a wonderful guide, Lahiru, who was really knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed picking the tea and seeing how , Moragu, a local woman with 30 years experience picking tea was able to pick it so quickly. An excellent experience.

Wonderful tea picking experience, Sallay was very informative and Maria showed us her expertise in tea picking, would highly recommend this excursion as it was a great insight from start of picking the tea to tea tasting at the end .
We asked a tuk tuk to take us and decided which tour to do once we arrived.

The plantation tour was super fun, you get to learn about the process of plucking the bud and leafs from the plant and you actually get to go out into the field and try it out yourself. Sallay was a great guide, very knowledgeable, and a great photographer. Definitely recommend doing this activity.

We did the tea plantation tour and it was one of the most amazing and beautiful experiences we have had in Sri Lanka so far. Our tour guide was friendly and told us many interesting facts about tea production. We got to harvest tea leaves in the tea plantation, and it was such a calming and fun experience. The tour ended with tea tasting and we bought our favorite teas to bring with us back home. All in all a great experience!!

We had a lovely time at the tea factory. We opted for the outside tour where we picked tea with Maria and Sallay talked us though the process. Sallay then lead our tea tasting. The tea was great and both Sallay and Maria made it a wonderful experience. Thank you both!

Sallay who led our tour could not have done any more. His introduction to the tea plantation and description of how different types of leaves results in different types of teas was very informative. The tea picking process with the help of a professional tea picker was fun but showed the skill and stamina required. To round of the tour with Sallay presenting tea tasting was a great way to end the tour. I would highly recommend.
