The tour starts in Messina area Porto, then along the Ionian coast through the highway we will arrive in Taormina making a stop to admire the beauty of Isola Bella and take some suggestive photos, we will continue to Taormina center where there will be free time about 2 hours for visit the Roman Greek Theater and go shopping by crossing the famous Corso Umberto. Then we will go to Castelmola to taste the famous almond wine and see the view overlooking Mount Etna, we will return to Messina where we will stop at the Cristo Re Shrine and in the Cathedral of Messina with the imposing clock tower astronomical.

Walk in the village with a visit to some shops with typical ceramics of Caltagirone, view of the Etna Volcano, free time for shopping.

You will arrive in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, where some of the most characteristic scenes of the Godfather Film have been shot, you will have free time to visit the village and observe the Church of Santa Lucia live, and the famous Bar Vitelli, location of some of the most evocative scenes of the film.

Terrific time exploring Sicily with two lovely guides who spoke perfect English and knew lots of facts about the region and culture. We toured the famous godfather film sites and had a beautiful afternoon in Taormina, despite some rainy weather. Our driver was skilled and knew how to navigate the tricky roads and small towns well. It is a beautiful area and you cannot go wrong with anything you try here, but recommend the drive to Savoca and taking time to take in the beauty of Taormina, including special locale from the White Lotus. We had an amazing afternoon Highly recommend this tour. Plenty of time for sightseeing and plenty of food - be prepared to eat well in Sicily! This is a great tour for the afternoon to learn about the cities from a passionate local guide who is excited to teach you more about this unique region. You will get familiar with the city and have plenty of time to roam the streets for shopping and see the famous views. Cannot recommend this enough! We cannot wait to return to Sicily already - thank you Sonia and Fillipo!

Our day in Sicily with Sonya couldn’t have been better! My husband and I both have limited mobility and she tailored the tour to our abilities. We saw everything, learned so much and had a wonderful time. We had the opportunity to sample some local specialties and banter with the shop owners. When we went back to our ship at the end of the day we were sad to leave our new Sicilian friends. We will always remember the amazing day we had with Sonya. It truly was the BEST excursion we’ve had in all of our travels!

I strongly recommend this tour. We were picked up from out ship in Messina and toured Taormina and Castlemora. Our guides suggested a wonderful local restaurant for our lunch. It rained all day, but when we talk about our tour somehow we never mention the rain. What could be more perfect!

We had a perfect private tour around Sicily / Messina / Taormina with Sicily Best Tours booked through Viator. Lillo (our local driver) met us right at the cruise port terminal a drove us first out to Savoca where we had lovely views from the hillside where they shot scenes from "The Godfather" in 1972 at Bar Vitelli. He shared some delicious local pastries he bought us before we toured the small town and the church of Santa Lucia. Lillo then drove us out to Castlemola where we had the very unique experience of tasting almond wine and enjoyed one of the best scenic views of Mt Etna. He then dropped us off in an area where we could stroll for shopping and stop for lunch in the Taormina center. We ended the day at the Cathedral of Messina with the iconic astronomical clock tower connected to a beautiful church. Lillo was so friendly and welcoming, giving us plenty of local history peppered with lots of humor. The day was filled with beautiful sites, overlooks, lots of laughs and memories made. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to get just a taste of the beauty Sicily has to offer.

We had a beautiful day in Sicily! Lillo was our driver and he was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We asked for time for lunch so we could experience dining in Sicily and he made that happen! Thank you Viator!

Great tour with Filippo and Lillo. We had 9 people, so they brought the van and a Mercedes to accommodate us. They are both safe drivers (important when ascending and descending those narrow roads!) and knowledgeable and friendly guides. The team was very accommodating when we had specific requests. Great experience overall.

We had a great tour with Lillo. We went to the Bar Vitelli where the Godfather was filmed. Also had a tour of the town. We went to Taormina and got to spend time in Messina. Loved it! We took this private tour instead of one from the ship. I highly recommend it.

The personalized service by both Oleksandra and our driver were so much more than we could have hoped for!
We were shown very unique areas and shops. Oleksandra knowledge of the areas was incredible!
