Itinerary
Enjoy a 3 hr. cruise in Faxaflói bay in search for whales and other wildlife. Stunning views on the horizon and excellent onboard services provided. Feel free to borrow our overalls to stay warm on the outside deck.
Most common whales we encounter are humpback whales and minke whales, although other species make their way into the bay a handful of times a year. If no whales or dolphins make an appearance on the tour, we will offer you to try again another day, free of charge!

Please note that our fleet is not completely wheelchair accessible as there are steep stairs between lower and upper decks and high thresholds to get from the decks into the saloon as well as from the saloon to the toilets.
Wheelchair users are welcome to bring a foldable chair onboard our bigger boats, but if possible, please advise our office prior to departure as we may need to assist with boarding.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

An excellent tour. We saw a humpback whale feeding, even though it was right at the end. The weather was excellent, pure sunshine, we had a lot of fun.

on Saturday 13 April we took Elding whale watching tour from Reykjavik harbor (3 hours). We saw humpback whale and minke whale. We didn’t see them jump or flip. They just went to the surface to breathe then dived back under the water. But it was so exciting! We tried to film them or take photos but it was not easy because they were quick. The guide took photos and shared them with us, but we only see the dorsal fin.

An excellent way to spend part of your time in Iceland! It was a beautiful sunny, crisp morning as we set out across the water. All of the staff on-board looked after us very well and, even though we didn't see any whales, we had a really great time! Plus, they gave everyone free tickets for another trip because of the shy whales 🐋

Fantastic experience seeing a humpback whale and a bunch of puffins. Professional pictures from the operator provided from our trip to our email account as well so you don’t need to worry about losing your phone over the side of the boat. Free seasickness tablets and the loan of a warm jumpsuit if needed.
Last but not least, commentary provided by a marine biologist who talks about the work the company does cataloguing and tracking the marine life and answers any questions passengers have.
Would definitely go again, and would highly recommend Elding for any tours!

The tour was ok we saw 2-3 whales.After spotting whales it was just a boring cruise nothing interesting to look around.

Great experience, lots of swell but given anti sickness tablets before set sail. Staff helpful, provided with outer wear for viewing outside. Def needed as not the best weather conditions. This didn't stop us. Lucky to see a couple of hump back whales.
