On the way to Athonos square we will pass one of the trademarks of the town

We will explore the renovated food market of Thessaloniki.

Through little streets and alleys full of history, you'll arrive at the "Kapani" (open from Monday to Saturday) a vibrant, colourful and historic place. Tastings at lunchtime at our favorite place in the market.

We had a great time sampling the food of Thessaloniki and finding out more about the city with Akis. The tour was interesting and enjoyable and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

This tour is like walking around in Thessaloniki with a friend who knows the best places to buy food and can tell you everything you want to know about the city. I am very happy that I booked this tour and I recommend it to everybody. The only thing to keep in mind is to arrive hungry!!! Thank you very much for the insightful tour and all the excellent food! I even went back to some of the shops to bring home souvenirs:)

Was an awesome experience. Leo was a super cool guide. We learned a ton about architecture and the history of Thessaloniki. We tried a bunch of different foods with some extras for later. We’ve done a lot of food tours and this one we were at long about the whole next day.

We booked 2 tours and both were amazing. The Street Food Tour with Akis was filled with wonderful conversations around the history, culture, and day to day life in Thessaloniki while eating the delicious local foods of Greece. Akis is very knowledgeable and a treat to be with. We also visited Meteora with Pascalis, who is also very knowledgeable of the history of the monasteries. He is a wonderful guide providing lots of information and colorful conversations along the way to Meteora. I highly recommend you pick Salty Soil for any of your tour needs. They are the BEST.

They don't understand how to deal with cruise passengers. We repeatedly told the guide the when the cruise was leaving. They kept saying it was ok. At the end we ended up running back to the port and had to miss the last stop and couldn't finish the 2nd to last. The guide spend way too much time walking around for nothing. He brought us to stores, we stood in front and he talked about how amazing it is, then walked on. In the end, we ate at standard places, nothing different and ignored the more unique places of Thessaloniki.

An enjoyable way to learn about the city’s history and delicious cuisine. Sophie was wonderful and very knowledgeable. As a solo traveler, I was happy to have her taking me to places I would never know about on my own. A fun, memorable day! Great food, too! Highly recommend!

This tour was amazing! Akis was our guide - he was punctual, so knowledgeable, kind, friendly and very easy to talk to. It didn’t take long before he felt like an old friend. My Mom and I tried Greek street food for the first time and it was excellent! He patiently answered all of our questions and gave us tips on how to navigate the city. We highly recommend this incredible experience- make sure you ask for Akis! :)

We had an obsolutely wonderful experience with Sophia on our food tour. Obviously the places she took has had amazing food, but she was a great person to spend a day with. Highly educated and engaging. Wed gladly do another tour with her when we go back to Thessaloniki.

I would have given this a 5 star but who ever sorts the booking and sends out the met up details didn’t give us or others in the group the correct meeting point. We where give a post code of a very long road. I had to call and get the meeting point, which turned out to be the harbour entrance.
The tour it’s self was very relaxed and a enjoyable few hours, our guide was very knowledgeable about the food and the city. As we walked she told us so much we didn’t know about the city and then stopping for local food and drinks.
