Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Shihding Ciandao Lake, Shiding Dist., Shiding, New Taipei Taiwan

Your tour starts with a visit to Thousand Island Lake, which is located in the south of Shiding District, New Taipei City.

The catchment area of Feitsui Reservoir surrounded by hills creates the unique scenery—a lake with thousands of islands, which shares the same name with the “Qiandao Lake” (literally thousand island lake) in China due to the resemblance between the two.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Bagua Tea Garden, Shiding Dist., Shiding, New Taipei Taiwan

The natural terrain and climate make the surrounding area of Feitsui Reservoir an ideal farmland for tea-growing, including Wenshan Baozhong tea and Dong Fang Mei Ren tea. Bagua Tea Plantation is located in this area, too. From the top of the hill, the neatly planted rows of tea look just like the symbols of Eight Trigrams, hence the name.

You will make a stop here and enjoy the stunning views of the endless rows of tea plants amidst the rolling hills around you.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Pinglin Tea Museum of New Taipei City, No.19-1, Shueisongcikeng, Pinglin Dist, Pinglin, New Taipei 23241 Taiwan

Your tour continues with a visit to Pinglin Tea Museum, a Hokkien-style Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard house) type of building that characterizes the traditional dwelling of Taiwan.

The museum has an abundant collection of traditional harvesting tools and equipment, tea sets, tea samples and many more that you will learn about the history and development of Taiwan’s tea industry. Additionally, the AR contents offer immersive experiences that you can interact with the exhibits, and have a better understanding of the world of Taiwanese tea.

Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Pinglin Old Street, pinlin St., Pinglin Dist., Pinglin, New Taipei Taiwan

Since you are in Pinglin, of course you will not miss out on the opportunity to taste the authentic Taiwanese tea at a local tea shop.

The tea shop owner will give an introduction to Taiwanese tea, and show you how to properly brew the tea to bring out the flavors of the tea leaves. You will also have an opportunity to taste different tea samples.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day and our trip to Taipei. The country side of Taipei is so beautiful and the tea master and tasting the various types of local tea really made the trip complete. Christina our tour representative is amazing and really knows her information. She introduced us to a tea egg, which we were hesitant, but hey why not we are here let’s try it. Glad we did. She is so friendly and we enjoyed having her guide our tour. This is a must, especially if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was quite refreshing and enjoyed my Mother’s Day . Thank you Christina!!!

Difficulties with the pickup Very rushed tour finishing in 3 1/2hours as the guide had commitments with the next tour. IE allowing 5 minutes in the museum The guide was pleasant but very domineering and difficult to understand. Very expensive for what was provided.

Had a great time on this team tour with our guide James. Went with my family on this English-speaking tour. Learned a lot about tea production in Taiwan and got to try 3 varieties at the end. The views were incredible around Thousand Island Lake.

My friends and I are huge tea fans, and this tour did not disappoint! The tea, the history, the views, everything down to meeting a tea farmer's dog. This is a very relaxing, homely tour filled with familiarity and a sense of beauty from the smallest parts of tea to the large mountain plantations. I loved this tour and it may very well have been my favorite of our whole trip. Amazing! Many thanks to this company and our guide.

Thousand Island Lake was beautiful and the tea shop was cute. We tried 3 teas and had a wonderful experience there. The tour was supposed to be in English and while our tour guide tried to speak in English, it wasn’t very clear. He talked the whole drive to the lake (which is actually a river) and to the tea shop (maybe 1.5 hours in total) and it was not enjoyable. When we asked questions, he had a hard time understanding. The last stop was the museum which was skippable. Would do the tour for the “lake” views and fun tea experience but bring headphones to cancel out the long chatter :-)

I booked a private tour for me, my wife, and my dad. My dad is fluent in Mandarin (and English), I can understand a bit, and my wife doesn’t know a lick. Christina, our guide, started the tour in English, but I asked her to speak in Mandarin because I believe tour guides are most genuine when they speak in their native tongue! And boy was I right! With my dad there to step in whenever we couldn’t fully understand, Christina’s humor and enthusiasm really shined through. She loves her job and has an amazing relationship with the Tea Master we met with at the end of the tour! She also knows how to take really good photos hehe. I can’t recommend this tour enough to people who want to take a small break from the metro Taipei area.
