Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: El Calafate, El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, Patagonia

Discover in a full day excursion Torres del Paine National Park (Chile), considered one of the eighth wonders of the world. Located in the heart of Southern Patagonia, 300 kms south of El Calafate, it is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the world for its curious and unique conformation of mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, flora and fauna.
Onboard our OVERLAND 4X4 TRUCKS we will visit strategic points, from where we will undertake walks that allow us to access the panoramic viewpoints of the most important natural attractions of the Park.
By default we do a walk of low technical difficulty and minimal physical demand. The walk is done in the company of our trekking guides authorized by CONAF - Chile.

Stop At: El Calafate, El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, Patagonia

The tour begins early in the morning from El Calafate -we use several support vehicles to ensure a quick start of the tour- to the international border. Chile the head vehicle finished the pick up we will head to the international border of Cancha Carrera - Cerro Castillo, taking the unpaved road called "The ShortCut" where we will arrive in at 10.30 am approximately. The guide will assist the travelers on the customs procedures.
The reduced travel times are the result of the enormous benefits of using our latest generation 4x4 Overland Truck, which allows excellent performance on the asphalt (even by on top of conventional buses) and circulate on unpaved roads almost like on the asphalt.

Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Villa Cerro Castillo, Villa Cerro Castillo, Aisen Region

Once we enter Chile we make a stop at the coffee place and money exchange El Ovejero. This is the first place with public restrooms and only place where travelers will be able to buy a handcraft and/or exchange money for the fee entrance of the national park.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Lago Sarmiento, Ruta Y-150, Torres del Paine National Park Chile

Once in the Park, we will make various stops with and without descending the vehicle to contemplate lakes, waterfalls, and we will even be able to watch foxes and guanacos, and perhaps pumas, among other native animals.
From Lago Sarmiento we will have the widest view the entire Paine Range

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Torres del Paine, Torres del Paine, Magallanes Region

Laguna Amarga: with our overland trucks we will ride by the coast of the Lagoon up to an exclusive point where the Paine Towers are reflected in the turquoise waters. We will walk along the coast and take unique photos

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Torres del Paine, Torres del Paine, Magallanes Region

Cascada Paine: Beautiful scenery where we will have an outdoor lunch.
As this park is full of different species of native animals, it is very likely that we will have guanacos, foxes, ostriches, condors and many other species of birds. Perhaps -as it has been happening to us in recent seasons- in this or in some other sector of the park we will most likely have an unforgettable encounter with pumas -animal very difficult to see until a few years ago-.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Torres del Paine National Park, Torres del Paine National Park, Magallanes Region

Portería Laguna Amarga (entrance of the park): Despite having been touring the national park for about 2 hours, the entrance to the park is paid at 1 pm aprox as the administrative office is located in a central location of the park.
Foreign currency (dollar and euro) is received at the park between Oct 1 and Apr 30.
The bills must be in perfect condition and can receive the change in Chilean currency. We trust that on the season 20/21 the fee be payed online before the tour.
In this point there are pubic restrooms.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Nordenskjold Lake, Torres del Paine National Park Chile

Here we have already begun to circulate the south side of the park where the imposing Cuernos del Paine and its variety of colors dominate the landscape. We will make a stop at the highest panoramic point of the excursion where the landscape combines granite mountains, valleys, lakes and the Paine Grande Glacier.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Torres del Paine, Torres del Paine, Magallanes Region

Salto Grande Waterfall: at this point we will start the hike to the inferior mirador of the Lake Nordenskjold. During the tour we will visit the imposing Salto Grande, where Lake Nordenskjold falls onto Lake Pehoe, forming beautiful rainbows on windy and sunny days.
This is the place where the force of the Patagonian wind can be perceived since for geographical reasons it is considered one of the windiest places in the world.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Torres del Paine, Torres del Paine, Magallanes Region

Pehoe Lake Mirador:
In this place the most representative photos have been taken and that best reflect the beauty of Torres del Paine National Park. The landscape highlights the Horns, the French valley, the Franch glacier, Monte Paine Grande and the Lake and the Hostería Pehoe.
From this point and around 4.30 pm we will start the return to the border and then continue to Calafate.

Duration: 15 minutes

Solo traveler here--I took this trip in Nov '22. This was the best trip I've ever booked/scheduled using TripAdvisor and/or Viator! The drive is bumpy on the way out, but I saw some amazing wildlife en route--pumas, flamingos (yep!), llamas, emus, and jackrabbits. The stops made along the tour route are filled with incredible views that you can't believe are real...I mean pinching yourself because it's THAT beautiful. I recommend this tour to anyone who's staying in the El Calafate area and trying to see as much as they can in Patagonia.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The tour guide Martin was knowledgeable and very kind. Despite the long hours, we knew this is advance, so it's worth it. The truck is very safe and comfortable. They prepared gluten free lunch for my wife.

A long day, worth every minute. The guide Nicolas was very good. All day explaining in both Spanish and (good) English. He knows what he is talking about, very good explanations. No significant delay at the border and in case this would be so, no blamage on the organization. For the trip many experiences and photography depends on the weather. Fortunately we were very lucky. A wonderful trip

If it's cloudy it's really not worth going. I was determined to see the highlights of Torres del Paine in 1 day but the clouds never lifted and all I could see was the lagoons (not even a hint of the mountains). Not worth ~12+ hrs on the bus. And the bus windows were fogged up so we couldn't even see out. This is a LONG day with a lot of getting on and off the bus for checkpoints, bathroom breaks, and the viewpoints. Also, there was no hike because of the rain, but I'm skeptical they actually fit in a 2 hr hike. I still gave this 4 stars because if the weather is nice it's probably worth it and the company that runs it does a very nice job with the logistics.

The actual transportation each way was actually about six hours. Sadly, it seems that the gravel highway is too rough to be used as a shortcut now. The park scenery is spectacular, the short hike to the waterfalls and 1.5 km beyond is easy, and at the limit for this 77yo man with hip, one, and ankle arthritis. The Chilean guide was great The souvenir shop at the Chilean border has many wonderful bargains, especially a huge stock of alpaca sweaters. More time for shopping and snacking would be helpful, at least 45 minutes and maybe an hour,v before the 6-hour journey back to El Calafate.

It's a group tour, so if something goes wrong because of fellow travellers your whole itinerary is thrown off. The staff was excellent and they work hard. I don't know if this is possible but having visas and passports checked by the company before you start, will create less problems . Staff did an excellent job, it was a fellow traveller that dampened our experience. We were 18+ on the bus and only 3 in the park and 2 hours at border. The staff did as much as they could, just some preplanning from the company would be nice. Be ready for a very long day.
