The trolley did not show up at the specified time/location. FINALLY, the "manager" came by and asked why we were waiting and we stated that it had not shown up. My son circled the building continuously as we were told that the trolley can come on either side of the building. The manager took us to the first stop but by this time we had missed approximately 45 minutes of a 2 hour tour. No explanation nor apology was offered. Very disappointed! I have used Viator several times before and have been pleased. This was a disappointment as it was my family's first experience in Alaska. No offer of a partial refund was offered.

Even with the rainy day our guide, Rosa, gave us an excellent tour of the town, totem poles, and an amazing waterfall.

The town is small, so not much to tell. The driver was late by 15 minutes and pushed into our time for our next event. Ride was to a stream, next to a hatchery. No animal sittings. Saw two eagles on the drive. Long stop at a totem place, then dropped us back in town. Not exciting.

Nightmare began with locating the tour. Went to the designated location 1hr+ and no one at the visitors center knew about the tour which was okay because they told us to be there 30 min before. At the 30 min prior mark we didnt see anyone with signs and went back into the visitors center and was told the tour guide wasnt here yet. I called the number and spoke with someone who said he was on his way. At the 15 min prior mark still no one and I called back and left a message. 5 min before the tour, received a phone call that the trolley was on the other end of the visitors center and they have been waiting on us! Then we had to check in to the same people in the visitors center who had told us more than once they weren’t there. Finally get on the trolley and there is no seats left for a party of 4 to sit! It was cold, rainy and where we sat there was no glass. Freezing cold wet air just bashing you in the face the entire trip. Tour guide very monotone voice and completely disengaged from tour group. Took us to what looked like a swamp to look for bears. No bears, couldn't see Salmon swimming upstream. Just what look like a muddy swamp with birds eating dead salmon. Stayed there 15 min and the tour guide drove up a hill somewhere with the trolley. Stood there in the pouring rain. After 15 min. we got back and the trolley and went to see the totems. Very uninteresting, unenthusiastic tour guide. Pretty much the entire group walked off from him to take pics on their own. I learned more listening to the other tours guides at the totem where I was on my own taking pics! May there a total of 25-30 min. Then back on the cold trolley back to town. Complete waste of time and money!

What a great way to spend a couple of hours in Ketchikan. Our guide Jeff was terrific -pointing out eagles, seals, and other wildlife. Loved his quizzes after each talk! The totems were very interesting and I’d love to go back for a separate tour of the carving area. The rainforest was amazing! I liked that we were given time at each stop to explore on our own.
