Itinerary
Day 1: : Marrakech – Imlil 1740m – Toubkal Refuge 3207m.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech, and drive towards Imlil valley from where you will start the trek. Once you are met by the local team, you will set off trekking in the valley of Aït Mizane, towards the village of Aremd then the sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch and the nearby waterfall. Continue on steep paths to the Toubkal refuge, where you will spend the night at a refuge. (4-5 hours of walking)
2 Day 2: Refuge 3207m – Toubkal summit 4167m – refuge 3207m – Imlil 1740m – Marrakech.
Start the day early to reach the summit of Jbel Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa. Cross streams and make your way through the rocks. Join the plateau and take a break to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area including the plain of Marrakesh and the High Atlas in the north, and the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara to the south Once you reach the summit, gently start the way back to the bottom of the mountain and to Imlil, then to Marrakech. Around 10 to 12h walk + 1h30 drive.

Mohamed led the trek with the pace optimized to avoid altitude issues and many times advised to slow down. Every meal was tasty and large enough to fed half of the US army not just 16 passionate travellers (Moroccan tea at the elevation tastes sooo good) :D
The tour package includes also accommodation for one night, transfer from and to Marrakesh, Park permit and kit (crampons as rocks on part of the trek were covered by ice and snow. That was an extra attraction, some of us never used full crampons before).
Mohamed also booked perfect weather so we spent nearly 1 hour sunbathing at the top of the Toubkal :D
Highly recommend 'Morocco Tours With Locals' and Mohamed if you consider trip to the Atlas Mountains! Definitely will use them again when in the area.

Mohammad runs this tour business out of Imlil, Morocco, and is a great communicator. He answered all my questions. Our guide up the mountain was Rashid. He was very calm and patient, and looks after you the entire time. Don’t fool yourself on this climb. It may not take technical skills, but is a strenuous hiking adventure. I was picked up from Marrakech on time. And the whole journey went off without a problem. Rashid is a good cook as well. Don’t hesitate to utilize them for your Morocco trekking adventures.

Mohammed is a legend. The view and trek is a wonderful experience which requires moderate to low prior trekking experience. Altitude sickness is possible but moderate (in most cases). Be careful with the clear water up top but if you drink it with Ricard(pastisse) you should be fine. All the best for your trip and you should definitely choose this option above all others.

Incredible experience, wonderfully led by Mohammed who was both wonderful company and a diligent guide. Beautiful mountain. Follow Mohammed’s advice and don’t drink the water, no matter how inviting and clear it looks.

I spontaneously went to Imlil to climb the Toubkal. I am very happy that I found Mohammed. I claim he is the best guide. I didn't have to worry about anything, everything was perfectly organized. The two days were great. I then moved straight into his Auberge, was wonderfully looked after and cared for and was able to go on more mountain tours with him. "5 Star Excellent" for safety, organization and lots of fun. I will definitely come again :)

Mohammed was recommended to me as a tour guide, so I contacted him months before my trip to make sure he's available for us. We agreed he will guide us to the top of Toubkal.
However on the first day of the trip another guide came to pick us up from the hostel. There was a lot of confusion, because Mohammed didn't told me someone else will replace him. Anyway, we went to Toubkal with his friend - Said, meeting Mohammed just shortly at the first stop when he was coming back to Imlil with another group.
Said is very nice, calm and friendly person, that knows this route very well. His English is not excellent but good enough to communicate. Finally, we all reached the peak with Said and were very happy he was our guide. He lead us safely to the top and back.
