Our guide was very knowledgeable. Local man, with lots of local details. Very engaging. The wineries were quaint, each a very different experience to the other. Some very old, some more modern. Wicked cheese was very, very good.

Incredible day!!! It would be a shame to come to Hobart and miss out on this! Stunning countryside views and world class wines! Garren is a very thoughtful guide, friendly and fun, he knows everyone in the area and is very knowledgeable about both wine and the region. Great value with many lunch options included at a lovely restaurant. I’ve been on many winery tours and this is my top!

Highly recommend this tour. Garden our guide and owner of the business went above and beyond. His knowledge of the wine industry and the local area were exceptional. The wineries visited were exceptional, lunch at Puddle Duck Vineyard was absolutely beautiful (included in the price). The hosts at all the vineyards we visited were great.

Can’t say enough fabulous things about this tour! Everything was top notch, excellent vehicle, itinerary, vineyards, lunch and…wine, of course. Garren was not only an extremely affable fellow to spend a day with, but he was an excellent driver and extremely knowledgeable about wine and the wine making process. Absolutely loved this tour!

What a fantastic day! Our driver, Garren, was lovely and very knowledgeable, not only about the vineyards we visited but also Hobart and Tasmania in general. The tour bus was air conditioned and very comfortable. Each of the vineyards we visited provided commentary about each wine sampled. All wines were excellent and the lunch at Puddleduck Winery was fresh and delicious. An added bonus was a visit to Wicked Cheese for a cheese tasting. I highly recommend this tour!

Really glad we chose the Coal River Valley wine tour from Ageing Barrel Tours for our day in Hobart. What a spectacular day! From the variety of wineries we visited ranging from the delicious lunch and tasting at the impressive Riversdale Estate to the intimate on location tasting at Merriworth Wines with the winemaker himself. Daniel our driver was terrific, we never felt rushed and were shown various viewpoints and provided tidbits and local knowledge of people that influenced the region and the wines and of places that left a stamp in history to the region. We were from a cruise ship and he successfully filled our day and got us back to the gangplank on time! Thank you again for a really enjoyable experience and memorable day.
