You’ve heard about one of the world’s most famous painters, Vincent Van Gogh. But what do you really know about this Dutch artist? After a break for lunch, enter the Van Gogh Museum to meet the man behind the famous sunflowers and self-portraits that feature in galleries around the world. See his work “The Potato Eaters” and “The Bedroom” as well as objects from his studio. Visit the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh’s works while learning about his troubled life from his days in Holland to his dramatic ending in France. And yes, you’ll discuss that whole ear incident.

Our guide was absolutely amazing. You could tell Van Gogh was one of her favorite painters and her passion for his art work showed. With her as our guide It was like having a master class on van Gogh. . I would highly recommend this tour

Wow! This was an amazing excursion. Frank, our guide, was amazing. We learned a lot and he was so personable and friendly. It was a great tour with so much information without feeling stuffy or rehearsed. I would highly recommend this tour and if you’re able, ask for Frank.

Wow. Do not go without a guide. So worth it we had Irene who was wonderful extremely knowledgeable engaging and made the visit so worthwhile. The back story and history makes everything more relevant and relatable. I highly recommend this tour

Ewald was a brilliant tour guide. We went in to the day with minimal knowledge / experience in Van Gogh/art history, and walked out of the museum with a plethora of knowledge. I highly recommend this experience.

Anita was a wonderful guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and thorough, with a great personality. The communication was excellent-directions to the meeting place were very easy. We enjoyed the tours very much and learned so much!

I toured both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum in a small group tour led by Cecelia. We saw the highlights with excellent commentary. Both museums were extremely crowded and while Cecelia was a bit stressed by the crowds and guard enforcing new rules she kept her cool and managed the tour. Very good.

Today we took a tour of the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museums with Romy and had the loveliest day. Romy was so knowledgeable. Being an art historian and having previously worked in both museums, Romy's explanations of what we were seeing were very detailed and she was able to answer any question we had. Art is beautiful but becomes so much more impactful when you have history and context and a guide who loves what they do. If you have a chance to tour Amsterdam museums, be sure to request Romy!
