Enjoy a 2-hour (from 11.10am to 1.30pm) in-dept tour of the Doges Palace and visit the famous Prisons.

Stop At: Scala dei Giganti di Palazzo Ducale, Palazzo Ducale Sestiere San Marco, 1, 30124 Venice Italy
While standing in the courtyard as your guide will introduce you to the Doges Palace architecture and history, see and learn about the Giant Staircase leading up to the Palace and used for formal entrances.

Walk over the famous Bridge of Sighs connecting the Doge's Palace to the Prisons and learn why it was given this name.
Stop At: Porta Della Carta, Between Basilica di San Marco and Palazzo Ducale, Venice Italy
Learn about the Main entrance of the Doges Palace, the paper door that links the Doges Palace to St Mark's Basilica.

Start the second part of the Venice day tours (from 2.30pm to 4.30pm) package which will focus on St. Mark’s Basilica and Venice city center narrow streets with a 2-hour walking tour including Skip-the-Line tickets to St. Mark's Basilica.

We'll discuss the famous landmarks of St. Mark's square, you'll enjoy an in-depth tour of St. Mark's Basilica, to admire the astonishing interior covered in rich and lavish mosaics and you'll learn about the strong Byzantine influences on the city that helped Venice realize its own unique style of architecture.

Pass By: Chiesa di San Zaccaria, Campo San Zaccaria Castello 4693, 30122 Venice Italy
During the tour you will also see the beautiful San Zacharia's church (exterior only), set in a quiet square, with its rich façade, a blend of gothic and renaissance style.
Stop At: Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Castello, Venice Italy
Admire from outside the Renaissance S. Maria Formosa church built on the site of a former 7th century church. The name "formosa" refers to an apperance of Holy Virgin in the form of a voluptuous woman.
Duration: 5 minutes
Pass By: Calle del Paradiso, Venice Italy
Cross Ponte del Paradiso bridge and enter a typical Hidden Venice alley "calle" to admire examples of Byzantine and Gothic architecture.

At certain times it may not be possible to enter any of the visited churches due to religious functions taking place. These closures are beyond our control so no refunds or discounts will be issued
Guaranteed skip-the-line entrance to St Mark's Basilica is compulsory from April to October due to high number of visitors. St Mark’s Basilica does not offer a fast entry service to anyone in other periods considered off peak season. No refund is due when skip-the-line reservation isn't required.

Tour of a lifetime. 2 Adults, 2 tween/young teen kiddos.
Our amazing guide, a local Venetian Philip, was a complete gem - totally engaging and an absolute goldmine of information. Clearly passionate about Venice and brimming with interesting and relevant facts on a wide variety of topics, he brought the history of the Basilica and the Doge's Palace to life. Our photos don't do these two incredible locations justice. They have to be seen to be believed.
All of us were highly entertained throughout and we will be reliving the experience and hearing Philip's charming anecdotes playing in our minds for a long time to come. Cannot recommend enough. Absolute perfection - even in the lashing rain! So deeply grateful for this experience.

Lorenzo was our personal guide and was really remarkable He was so personable and knowledgable. He provided the historical, symbolic, political and interpretive experience for all that we saw. He also was able to inject humor and interpret for our 6 year old daughter. I would strongly recommend Lorenzo for his great wealth of knowledge and his personable way of educating.

The tour of the Doges Palace was fascinating, made all the better by our guide Adrianne. Her extensive knowledge of the history of Venice and the paintings brought the trip to life.
Also, the walking tour was excellent as well.
The visit to St Mark’s Basilica was disappointing. We did not “jump the queue” and did not stay long

Edi was a wonderful tour guide who really made this experience a lot of fun. She had a great personality and kept our teen entertained with stories from the past. She pointed out lots of interesting tidbits about the art we saw and explained what each thing meant. We got lots of good suggestions as well for how to spend the rest of our time here. My son enjoyed they way she spoke to him like an adult and included him in the discussions and tried to tell him stories he would enjoy. Definitely a great tour.
However, one thing this company does NOT tell you is that to get into the basilica, women need to have their shoulders and knees covered so we had to spend money to but some cheap scarves at a stall outside. I wish we’d known ahead of time so my wife could have dressed accordingly and not had to buy extra.

A private tour, not the cheapest, but worth it. Our tour guide, Ariana, was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the history of everything. Great experience. We thought 3 hours would have been better as by that point we had done the Dodge & St Marks without rushing, and by the the last hour our feet had had it! Skipping the lines is worth it too. Make sure your knees and shoulders are covered for the church part of the tour!

Our guide, Arianna Lovato, was superb. Not only charming and friendly, but also very knowledgeable. We almost felt like Venetians ourselves as we finished our tour. Would highly recommend both her and Viator!
