This attraction was lovely. So many butterflies and they were just freely flying around and nearly hitting you. There was parrots, flamingos, turtles and even a tarantula spider there. Lovely staff who told you everything about the place.

A neat little place to visit if you've got kids or are really into butterflies. There are a few parrots and some little finches (or maybe sparrows?) also, as well as a flamingo, turtles, lots of koi, and a big iguana. Facilities were clean. Overall it was very relaxing and good use of time.

There are butterflies, parrots, turtles, tortoises, fish, poisonous frogs, a bird-eating spider, and at least one iguana, but the star was Mango the flamingo. It was great to get up close and observe how he spends his time. It's worth spending an hour on the exhibit room, garden room, and gift shop, but you could easily get through in half an hour if pressed for time.

This place is absolutely spectacular. there are so many interesting species of birds, butterflies and other insects and reptiles. Along with Butchart Gardens, this is a place that you must go to if you are visiting Victoria.

Butterfly Gardens is one place that is a must-go for families, couples, or classes (I went with my class for a field trip!) Bring water and phones for photos!

I went with my class to butterfly gardens and they had an amazing experience. This is a great introduction to evolution units and explaining the diversity of the animal kingdom. They were thrilled to be there.

It was a magical experience in the rain forest with the butterflies, birds, turtles freely flying and roaming around in the midst of incredibly beautiful tropical flowers and ferns and other plant life. I loved it especially when a sweet little parrot decided it liked hanging with me on my arm for quite some time!

I never went. My cruise ship had a problem with my fishing license and I didn’t have time to get there and back in time for my 1:05 fishing excursion. The taxi line was an hour wait at the port. So sad that I had to miss my trip to the butterflies.

On Victoria Day there were a number of cruise ship tours (we were one of them) and guests. The gardens were busy and somewhat crowded. What impressed me most was the insectarium on the way in and the leaf cutter ants. Inside the gardens there were not the number and variety of butterflies. Most were the blue morpho variety. There are a couple of parrots and a flamingo. A visit to the butterfly gardens is better suited for families with children.
