Itinerary
Become a knife-maker for a day. Learn to make a knife under my guidance and supervision, and receive instructions on finishing your very own knife and leather sheath, using natural materials that I have been collecting from Icelandic nature through the years – the same as were used by the Vikings.
I will explain the knife-making process to you and teach you the same techniques I have been using and mastering for decades, including designing, sanding, polishing, shaping handles, and, last but not least, making a sheath.

Had such a wonderful time with Palli. Knowledgeable and lovely to learn from. All you need to bring is willingness to follow directions and decent grip strength. The knives will make lovely gifts.

I had such an enjoyable, educational and relaxing experience in the Viking Knife-Making Workshop. It will be a good-feeling memory of my travel to Iceland and a beautiful knife to take home. Our instructor Pali (sp?) was so patient, talented and friendly. It is near the Golden Circle too so we continued on the Golden Circle after we finished our workshop. A thoroughly enjoyable day!

We had a fabulous day, making knives was good fun, seeing what Palli makes himself, hearing stories about Iceland and eating local food for lunch. We would definitely recommend this experience as something different to do and bringing home a wonderful memory of our time in Iceland.

We really enjoyed this opportunity to learn how to shape a knife handle and sew a leather sheath from a master craftsman. Palli taught us how to use a rasp to shape the wood and animal horn into a properly shaped handle. Then he cut cow hide into a sheath pattern which would fit the knife perfectly, and taught us how to sew the sheath. It was a lovely day; Palli's hospitality was wonderful. It was fun to chat with him, and we enjoyed coffee, a traditional lunch, and hanging out with friendly German Shepherd Nora. And we came home with souvenirs that we will cherish. Highly recommended!
