Matteo Allavena was very knowledgeable and personable and made this a very memorable, interesting and enjoyable experience. The Louve has so much to see but he did a great job of selecting the art to see, which included all the major highlights, but he also showed us a sample of all the different periods of art exhibited in Louve. In addition, he gave us the history of the building itself. His expertise made this a highlight of our time in Paris.

Matteo was an excellent guide, not only in navigating the entrance to the museum and moving around, but in his explanation of the pieces that he took us to. Keep in mind that the Louvre is huge and some say that it would take 3 days to see the entire collection on display, so you will see a fraction of what is on display, but you will get to it quickly, and really understand the historical and cultural significance of what you are seeing. Matteo takes complex concepts in the art and makes them feel very accessible. He also knew how to best navigate the museum for our group, which included one person in a wheelchair. This was a good thing, because Paris in general, and the Louvre in particular, are difficult to navigate for those with limited mobility. Half of the elevators we wanted to use inside the Louvre were out of service, yet Matteo helped us move around very easily. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour, I think I enjoyed seeing the Louvre at least 3 or 4 times as much as I would have otherwise.
