Spend an adventurous day with the fascinating whale sharks, snorkel at the coral reef and enjoy a typical Caribbean lunch at the famous beach of Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres.
The fascinating whale shark, found in open water of the tropical ocean, is a slow-moving filter feeding shark and the largest knows living fish species. Without any doubt observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a bucket list experience. Join us and enjoy the thrill of getting wet and up close to Mexico´s whale sharks.
On our way back we will enjoy snorkeling along the coral reefs, and we will finish our day on the Northern beach of Isla Mujeres to join fish ceviche with guacamole.

Traveler pickup is offered
We offer pick up from any hotel, airbnb or private residence. Pick up Tulum between 04:00-05:00 am. Pick up from Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya 05:30-06:30 am and pick up from Cancun between 06:00-07:00 am. Pick up from Isla Mujeres is from the Gasstation Pemex in Isla Mujeres.

The total duration of this tour can vary, typically influenced by factors beyond our control. On average, the boat activity lasts about 5 hours. However, this duration may extend due to weather conditions, the location of the whale sharks, and the number of swimming opportunities. Additionally, the transfer time from your hotel to our pier varies based on your location and current traffic conditions. Including transfers, expect the entire tour to last between 7 and 12 hours

It’s usually the guide’s experience that makes or breaks a trip such as swimming with whale sharks.
Luckily, I had Alana as my guide. Her expertise in leading the trip as a whole, knowledge about the animals and their needs, reading social cues in the group, and handling all the various dependencies along the way were invaluable to making the day a full success.
Starting with her fun and detailed briefing in the car, caring for nervous and nauseous participants before and during the boat ride, and perfectly timing everyone’s swims, I felt very far outside of my comfort zone and at the same time super safe during the entire experience.
Additionally, thanks to Alana filming me swimming, I have some great pictures showing me with the whale sharks that simply amaze me every time I look at them.

What an amazing experience with these majestic creatures. HIGHLY recommend doing this - only downside is you get about 5 mins twice and not so sure this is eco friendly :(

We had an awesome time! Found one shark and many others throughout our tour. Rochelle was a great guide and was accommodating to all the guests. She is very knowledgeable about the sharks! Would highly recommended!

Was an amazing experience!! Highly recommend. Juan & his crew took care of us the entire day. Early pickup up but right on time. Gave us all the information to have a safe day & minimize sea sickness. Swam with whale sharks but also saw giant manta rays, dolphins, & a sea turtle. Lunch at Playa Norte was tasty & the location was beautiful. Bought the pic/video package which was reasonably priced. Got terrific images & video. This is the 2nd tour I’ve gone with Ocean Tours & both tours were fantastic. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!!

Juan Ignacio was a great tour guide! He was informative and friendly! The boat was great, ceviche was perfecto! Could have done without the snorkeling - but other than that it was all worth it!
Don’t be afraid of the early morning - it’s worth it!
