Experience many Japanese traditional & cultural activities including a tea ceremony, music, cooking and Kimono (traditional cotton outfit) in ONE place an ordinary Japanese home privately. Maximum 3 guests are available.
What you can experience
Yukata Dressing:
Wear a beautiful cotton kimono.
Tea Ceremony:
I will demonstrate and explain the process before guiding you in making your own tea. Enjoy two cups of green tea with traditional Japanese sweets.
Koto Music:
Experience a private concert featuring three beautiful pieces of Japanese music, including the famous "Sakura." You will also have the chance to learn and play this iconic song on a 13-string, 2-meter-long Koto.
Cooking Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki:
Delicious pancake, topped with a special sauce. Originally from Hiroshima, I bring authentic tastes of my hometown to your plate. Note: This dish is typically made with pork, but shrimp substitutions are available upon request.
Cooking Norimaki Rolls:
Create tasty and healthy sushi rolls, perfect for rice lovers. This dish is suitable for vegans and those observing religious dietary restrictions.

• Okonomiyaki , Hiroshima style cabbage pancake - I am originally from Hiroshima area. So this is my hometown taste. It is fun to cook and delicious ! You will love the special sauce on top too !
• Please choose your lunch - Please choose your lunch from 2 choices and let me know in advance.
One group can choose one kinds of food.
• Norimaki rice rolls - You can make your original rolled sushi !
Ingredients are only vegetables so very healthy.
It is suitable for vegetarian, vegan and Muslim people.
• Basic dishes - If you don’t choose your dish in advance, cabbage pancake with pork will be prepared :)

Noriko is a kind and interesting host. She talks a lot and laugh a lot, which make us friends immediately.
We enjoy a formal tea ceremony with delicate Japanese sweet, full of seasonal flavor.
Then Noriko helped me do make-up and wear a beautiful "kimono". Suddenly I became an elegant Japanese lady and can't stop taking pictures of all poses.
Then we had a wonderful Japanese style meal, all made by great chef Noriko.
Listening to her introductions and stories, we really had a deep dive into Japanese culture and history. This is definitely the most local way to do travel in Tokyo! Just make a reservation and build exotic memory of your own!

What a fun day! Noriko was such a delightful and lovely hostess. She is so knowledgeable about many aspects of Japanese culture.
The meal she made was delicious, and such a treat to watch. And Noriko is highly trained in the art of tea ceremony. That was a unique taste of Japan! And everything is so beautifully presented.
I loved getting to try my hand at learning to play the koto. It was was definitely challenging, but so interesting.
The highlight was being able to try on a beautiful, silk kimono, and imagine life in old Japan!
This was not only a great chance to learn and experience traditional Japanese culture. It was also chance to spend time with our lovely hostess Noriko, in her own home. There was plenty of time to ask and discuss our many questions!
An impressive, unforgettable experience!

典子オーナーのご自宅で日本文化体験をさせていただきました。玄関を開けると一気に和の空間に引き込まれ、家紋の入ったインテリアや和雑貨に引き込まれ、典子オーナーの明るく優しい教えに引き込まれてお茶とお琴を教えていただきました。
海外の友人が日本に来たときはぜひここに一緒に来たいと思いました。

オーナーの典子さんにお茶のお作法を教えていただきながら素晴らしい和の空間を堪能させていただきました。お作法の一つひとつが持つ意味を、わかりやすく楽しく説明していただきました。
残念ながら写真を撮り忘れましたが、玄関からお部屋までのアプローチもお部屋の中も、随所に素晴らしい和のインテリアがありました。
典子さん、とても素敵なおもてなしをありがとうございました。またお会いできる日を楽しみにしています。

昨日はのりこさん手作りの夕食を頂き、越田家と楽しい時間を過ごしました。2月に新居へ引っ越し初めての訪問者となりました。家は玄関を開けた瞬間から和に魅せる工夫が随所に見られました。間接照明も温かく、落ち着いた雰囲気です。時が経つのを忘れて、長い時間、くつろいだ雰囲気のなかの団欒は素敵な時間でした。ありがとうございました。
