Wicklow monutains horse trekking

This was the best experience! My 12yo daughter and I were in Dublin on holiday from the US, and we rode with Ray in sprinkling rain and wind (aka not ideal weather), but it was so special and memorable. The horses were gentle, the views were bright green and lovely, and Ray was a delight to chat with. They had boots, gloves, and helmets for us to use. I’d recommend this experience as a perfect and unique way to spend a few hours in the beautiful Wicklow area!

Loved this place, horses were brilliant, knew their job. My little girl wanted to take Samba home with her. Lovely views, Ray was friendly and welcoming. Will be back 🙂

We had a fantastic family trip to Hollywood Horse and Pony Trekking Centre last weekend. The team got us kitted up on arrival and introduced us to our four legged friends. As complete novices, he took us through how to control the pony's in different situations and off we went.. Ray is a very outgoing chatty character who immediately puts you at your ease. We spent over an hour trotting around the rolling hills, down to the lakeshore and back covering different types of terrain including fields, trails, mud, the lake, and even a young forested section. Our young kids were led by a guide each for the whole journey and felt very secure with no issues at all. One tip would be to bring a pair of gloves to keep your hands warm! I would recommend to anyone who hasn't been to give this a try, it's a great way to get out and enjoy the countryside from a different perspective.

Excellent day out with Ray and Cathy trekking around the beautiful mountains and lakes of Wicklow. Suitable for all levels. I am experienced and got a great horse that was fun. Relaxed and fun atmosphere we will be back for more . Highly recommend

What a fantastic day out. I have done a few treks with Ray - he himself should be a rep for Bord Failte due to his incredibly welcoming and friendly manner. Ray was easily able to match us up on horses to suit us; a nice quiet mare for me and some slightly more challenging horses for the more adventurous in our group! But all very safe. We all had riding experience and really enjoyed some trots through beautiful hilly fields and forests and some canters and gallops in the fields. Even a bit of a splash in the lake. I can imagine people with no experience would be able to enjoy this as a wonderful day out. Beautiful horses, fantastic countryside routes and most of all (for me!) a feeling of safety. We will absolutely be back Ray!

Had an excellent time! The trainers and tour guide were first rate! I cannot wait to come back to Ireland and ride again with Hollywood Horse trekking.

A magical horse riding experience through the mountains. The green fairy forest felt like you were in another time. Cantering down the King's River was out of this world. Ray is spectacular and the horses, over the moon.
