Itinerary
We'd like to invite you to take part in a tasting of wines that we appreciate and would like to share with you, as we've discovered them on various wine tours with French winemakers.
For the most part, the wines are local wines from independent winemakers, as are all the products in the meal.
A selection of 8 wines, always different, will be offered. We'll explain the choice of each wine, its wine-growing region, its year, and finally why it goes well with a particular cheese. As the tastings are always different, so are the topics covered.
Here's the latest tasting:
Effervescent : Pet Nat 2022 from the Beaujolais paired with Chaource cheese
White wines : La Fraicheur 2023 early wine from Lorraine and Velteliner 2019 from Savoie paired with local goat cheese
Red wines : Fleurie 2021 from Beaujolais, Crozes-Hermitage 2020 from Rhône Valley, Pommard 1er cru "Les Chanlins" 1996 from Bourgogne paired with artisan charcuterie
Vin de voile from Jura paired with Comtés of different maturities
Sweet wines from older vintages +15 years paired with regional blue cheeses
Local desserts
No need to book a restaurant, you won't be hungry after the tasting

This was a one of the best tastings I have ever attended. I own a wine bar in the USA and I will take lessons back to my operation to improve our offerings. The wines were amazing and the food was impeccable.

We tasted 9 great wines with plenty of topping off! The sommelier guided us to a cheese shop, which conveniently supplied us with wonderful cheese pairings to go with the wines. We learned extensively about wines in the various French regions, and had fun talking with 3 other couples. This is a wine tasting you should NOT miss if you are in Lyon! The sommelier was fantastic.

Hugo taught us a lot about the different wine regions in France, while also challenging us to taste, try, and guess each new wine. The wine and food was good as were the people!
