Meet your tourguide at the train station at the designated meeting point and make your way by public electrical bus to Kriens, just 10 minutes away from the city center.
Stop At: Kriens, Kriens, Lucerne
In terms of population, Kriens is the third largest municipality and the second largest city in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. It lies at the foot of Mount Pilatus and borders Lucerne to the east.
A short walk takes you to the cableway station of the Pilatus gondola.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Pilatus-Bahnen AG, Schlossweg 1, 6010 Kriens, Switzerland
You board one of the aerial cableways (mentioned as gondola in Switzerland) to hoover via Krienseregg to Fräkmüntegg. Travel time is 20 minutes.
Duration: 10 minutes
Pass By: Fräkmüntegg, 6010 Kriens, Switzerland
At Fräkmüntegg you change on the 60-people gondola for the final ascent. Travel time is 6 minutes.
Stop At: Pilatus Luzern, Schlossweg 1, Kriens, Lucerne 6010 Switzerland
Arrive at the mountain station Pilatus Kulm, where a viewing terrace, a panorama gallery and two mountain hotels are located on the scenic local mountain.
Visit several attractions at Mt. Pilatus like the dragon gallery, the viewpoint, the scenic terraces and the multimedia presentation. After your lunch and visit, you travel the same way back by gondola to Luzern.

The Krienseregg is perfect for families. In the versatile local recreation area you will find marked, varied circular hikes and large picnic areas

Boarding the electric bus for the 10 minutes ride to Luzern, where you will board the Bürgenstock-Shuttle Catamaran boat.

We were disappointed that the Tram car to the top of Mt. Pilatus was closed due to weather. But the rest of the tour was very informative. Our guide Anycia was exceptional and very knowledgeable. We will highly recommend her and Viator to friends traveling in the area.
One suggestion: in the write-up for the tour, it would be nice to get an idea of the length of walking times and the terrain walked on. This would help seniors and other with walking limitations decide if the tour is right for them.

Our guide was Domenico & he was awesome! He sent me a text the night before with info on where to meet him with a picture of the location. It ended up being just the 3 of us so it was like a private tour. The trip up the mountain on the cog rail was very cool. It had snowed up there the weekend before so that made it even more beautiful! After we got back to Lucerne he offered to walk us around the city and show us really interesting places. He was so knowledgeable about the entire area of Lucerne. He made sure we got on the correct train back to Basel when we were done. He really went above and beyond to make our day in Lucerne awesome!!!

The visit on Mount Pilatus was enjoyable and our guide provided a lot of information.
However, now I consider the amount paid for the tour as extremely expensive. Had we taken the same bus (public transport) used by the tour leader and bought tickets up the mountain and back, and tickets for the boat ride, we would have paid almost half the cost paid for this tour!

Phenomenal experience! Cable car up to the mountain and the views already made the tour worth it. Tour guide was great, one of our favorite parts of our Switzerland trip. Highly recommend!

This tour was the highlight of our vacation! We planned our Viking extension to Lucerne on our own. We had no problem meeting our guide who was early at the train station. We didn’t know we needed a bus pass from our Hotel but he worked out the issue.. The sun was shining once we were above the clouds! We loved the leisurely walking day.

Our guide put us in the best possible positions to view and experience each place that we've visited. Search beautiful views in the mountains. I would do the tour again.

Even though weather made view pretty bad, our guide Oscar was delightful, knowledgeable and made it a fun excursion. The cable cars were fun and the boat ride was very nice. He gave us choices of what we wanted to see on way to mountain and lake.

Loved the tour! Our tour guide was attentive, knowledgeable and good with us and my daughters. Never felt rushed. Was understanding when my girls was to Stop for a restroom break or water break. The sites were breathtaking! MUST GO TO THIS EXCURSION!
