Even if you haven't worked with wood before, this class is a wonderful experience. Wayan is a skilled and knowledgeable craftsman/instructor with a big smile and good sense of humor.
In a little under two hours, he taught my fiancee - who has never once wielded a chisel or mallet - how to carve a pretty hibiscus flower out of a block of wood.
As a bonus, the class admission fee also gives you access to the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) grounds, which is a whole experience by itself.

The gentleman who taught me was patient and extremely skilled. He was able to work around my novice mistakes and offered advice to improve.

Great experience and they are so friendly. Recommended, but you must be patient as we took more than 2 hours, almost three and a half.

This was part of our best day in Bali! Wayan was a lovely instructor with a great sense of humour. He was very patient and skillful. My son had a design he really wanted to create and Wayan made sure that happened. The museum grounds were beautiful and so was all of the art. Another bonus is that the museum was very quiet and absent of all of the overcrowded touristy spots. Matour Suksma.
