Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Coyoacan, Parque Centenario, Mexico City 04000 Mexico

Begin your full-day tour with a visit to Coyoacán, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Mexico City, dating back to pre-Hispanic times. As you stroll the cobblestone streets and see 16-century mansions, learn about the history of this area and its colonial legacy from your knowledgeable guide.

Listen to how the neighborhood turned into a cultural hotspot, attracting artists and intellectuals in great numbers.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Museo Frida Kahlo, Calle Londres 247 Col. Del Carmen, Mexico City 04100 Mexico

Wrap up your Coyoacán visit at the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as Casa Azul (Blue House). See where this world-renowned artist lived with her husband, Diego Rivera, and learn about her tumultuous life. During your hour of free time here, admire examples of her iconic work.

Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Xochimilco, Mexico City Mexico

Xochimilco is an agricultural area located 17 miles (28 km) south of Mexico City where many of the city’s flowers are grown. Back in Aztec times, this valley was once a lake. Learn how the local people, as a way around the lack of farmland, developed islands with floating reed mats loaded with soil and used them as gardens called chinampas. Today, these gardens are an ecological reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Stop At: Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, Southern neighborhood of Xochimilco, Mexico City Mexico

Board a colorful, flat-bottomed boat called a trajinera with your guide, and for an hour take a slow cruise on the chinampa channels, passing by floating gardens of flowers. As your boatman moves the vessel along by pulling a pole through the water, hear from your guide about the characteristic boats, originally hollowed from logs and once used for transportation throughout Mexico.

Pass by other painted vessels transporting passengers and check out the boat vendors selling fresh food. Hungry? Taste a variety of dishes and drinks, such as mole, mixiote (barbequed meat), roasted corn, quesadillas, tacos, carnitas, pulque (milk-colored alcoholic beverage) and micheladas (Mexican beer-based cocktail). (Food and drink purchases are at your own expense.) Hear music like mariachi drifting from other boats, occupied by families and visitors celebrating birthdays, baptisms, weddings, or simply a good time.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Ciudad Universitaria, Avenida Universidad 3000, Mexico City 01050 Mexico

We going to appreciate the Juan O’gorman & Diego Rivera murals on the UNAM central library, this murals are an UNESCO World Heritage site.

I do not believe that I can recommend this tour in any way, shape or form.  I feel like the description was deceiving but a little explanation is in order.  We flew into Mexico City for an Astros baseball game that was supposed to start at 4 PM on Saturday.  My sister-in-law is a HUGE fan of Frida Kahlo and the only reason she accompanied my brother and myself on this trip was to specifically go to Casa Azul to see the art of Frida.  We needed to find a tour that would allow us to visit Museo Frida Kahlo and still allow us plenty of time to make the game.  Looking through Viator, I saw several tours of the museum, but then came across this one which was a little bit more but also offered more attractions.  I looked through the itinerary as was posted on the description which is in the image I uploaded.  As you can see it listed Coyocan, Frida Museum, Floating Gardens then the University.  So we decided, we could do the first couple of stops on this tour and break off after the museum to get ready for the game.  On game day we get to our meeting spot, check in, go to a 2nd meeting stop to get more people and finally start the tour.  The first place they take us is some silver shop, which was NOT on the itinerary.  It is at this point that they give us the schedule for the rest of the tour, telling us that we would stop at the silver shop, then go to the floating gardens, then lunch, then the museum around 4PM and finally the university.  I am not really sure if Coyocan was mentioned because as soon as we heard the 4 PM time for the museum, our hearts dropped.  We had to break off from the tour and decided to catch an uber to the Museum and unfortunately, as it was day of, the museum was totally sold out.  I feel that if you list an itinerary, you need to stick with it, or if you aren’t going to stick with a posted itinerary, then you should have a disclaimer.  Had we seen a disclaimer, it is HIGHLY unlikely that we would have chosen this tour.  We would have gotten a direct tour of Casa Azul or simply bought tickets directly from the museum and ubered there.  This was a HIGHLY disappointing turn of events and I feel like I let someone down because I made a bad choice in selecting this tour.  I did try to reach out to the tour company through Viator to ask for a partial refund or a voucher for a future tour but was turned down.  Needless to say I will not recommend this tour to anyone.

Ligia is an exceptional person as well as a tour guide. We have a wonderful and learning experience from the beginning of the tour till the end. The UNAM, The Estadio Azteca enrich us with new information. Xochimilco is such an enchanted and beautiful town. Coyoacan and Frida Kahlo museum was very nice and rich of information. We had a great time.

We enjoyed this tour. Our guides Leticia and Sergio were excellent. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We learned a lot and got a few good laughs in the process. There was enough time at each location to enjoy and appreciate them. Very impressed with our driver navigating the bus through those crowed streets!

Definitely recommend this trip! Sergio was amazing. He even bought little tranjelas to give out if guests answered correctly his questions. He had a great personality and we definitely learned a lot from him. Would definitely do this again.

Pros: very informative guide Sal, well organised and keeps the group informed of important timings to take note of. Boat ride was fun, museum was really good we had about 1hour to explore but wished we had slightly more time. Cons: silverware store was random and not in the itinerary, please put it as the first stop on the tour if it is actually part of the tour. The lunch restaurant was overpriced!!! Not much options around the lunch restaurant, suggest the tour to just drive us to cocayana to have lunch ourselves there were so many options there!

Not enough time at Casa Azul - only 50 minutes and that included the waiting time inside the yard. Could have skipped the souvenir stop at the start to make more time for the Casa Azul. Xochimilco: about 20 mins on boat before we stopped for more than 30 minutes at some shop to buy drinks ; the guide said it was going to be only 5 minutes and only 2 people bought drinks; we just sat there waiting for the time to pass; could have spent a lot more time ‘sailing’ on the ‘river’. Also did not count to make sure enough room on boats for full group - added a chair at the end to accommodate but it was on the sloping part/on an incline and therefore rather uncomfortable. Also not very punctual - left 15 mins later than the start time (again, time we could have used for the Casa Azul) and also left 15 mins later than supposed to leave from the last stop (Xochimilco) - folks incl. the guides and driver were just standing around smoking an talking outside the bus; this meant we got stuck in traffic and got back 45 mins later than originally indicated and had to hurry to catch our flights (despite the guides asking at the start if they needed to take anyone’s departure flights into account). UNAM stop was short but good Lunch buffet was good Guide Mario very knowledgeable; thanks to Benjamin the bus driver for keeping us safe Would have been better to just do Casa Azul ourselves separately and take our time there and then a fun separate tour for Xochimilco/on the trajineras

What a beautiful and historic tour to begin our week in Mexico City. Coyoacan and the Frida Kahlo Museum were exciting to see and experience. Our guide Letty did a marvelous job of sharing her knowledge of culture and history throughout the tour. Xochmilco was so fascinating with all the colorful boats, vendors and musicians all floating up and down the canals. A once in a lifetime adventure.
