You definitely need a full day to enjoy the whole park. We were there from 10am - 4pm and managed to get round all the activities once (twice on the hammock splash cos it was awesome!). The traffic light system in the ‘heart’ of the park is really useful for seeing how busy the different activities are. The new Water Xlide wasn’t on there though so that was just a ‘wait and see what they say’ job. We were told the queue was 1 hour and that was at around 3pm; it didn’t feel as long though once we got in it. It would be better if transport was included as we ended up spending around €900MXN each way in a taxi. However, our taxi driver on the way there did tell us that the food was amazing and he was not wrong! Honestly some of the best buffet food I’ve ever had! The juice bars were a nice touch too for a little hydration break between activities. The park was clean and well organised and overall a really fun day out!

This was one of the best experiences I've had. All of the walking between attractions was through the underground cave system. The zip lines were great(1st timer) and 1 Zipline ended in a splash down. The hammock splash was very fun, I even skidded across the water like a rock that had been skipped across a pond before landing in the water. Very cool experience. The river swim was great with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. The raft paddle was good but inexperienced people not knowing which way to paddle made things difficult, too many rafts launched too close together, but overall a great experience. The buggy ride was fun and longer than expected with cave driving and water entries(not as big of a splash as anticipated) but very fun. The tube ride was very exhilarating. The tube twisted and turned and there were several bigger drops with 1 really big drop(adrenaline rush) and ended in the wave pool. The underground exploration was a walk through the underground river with 2 slides mixed in. Very relaxing peaceful walk through the underground river. Very much worth the money paid for the 6 hours.

used to LOVE this park!back near its opening in the early 2000's it was TOTALLY "Indiana Jones"!Everything was MUCH more risky and adventurous. In making it more like an American park lately-It has lost a lot of this.Zip lines have decreased in amount dramatically, but are still the most adrenaline pumping thing there, flying over busy roadways with zips that arent even really attached to the cable(LOL).but instead of having a bunch of twin bed mattresses to slam into if you dont lift your feet in a timely manner-it has a slow down system that slows you lots on approach.THe new supposedly "CRAZY"waterslide is one of the tamest ive seen albeit a nice splah of water when you need it.the jeep trails are changed and unattractive now with minimal cave driving and no spanish road signs leading you across rickety looking bridges. They DO allow cameras on most of the attractions now as long as its your cellphone in a sealed waterproof container-this is good because otherwise you might have to pay the ridiculous rates for the pics from the hundreds of cameras placed all around the park. Food is still pretty good-on par with a "PALACE"resort, but nothing to write home about. In short-if you have young kids that have never seen this kind of thing before(7-11),its probably great-but I would highly recommend something BETTER like XEL HA for a similar amount of money-EVEN XCARET beats this nowadays!

BOOKING A TICKET Stayed in Playacar. Booked Xplor from their website a week prior to have the best price, an added discount and an idea of the weather forecast. Even found a promo code online on top of that. Note that if you book at least 7 days prior, you get a discount & 21 days prior, an extra discount. Everything is clear on the website. GETTING TO THE PARK Be aware that if you take a taxi from Playacar to Xplor, you will pay 800 mex pesos round trip (about 80 $ CAN). Instead I left early & walked to Chedraui (45 min from Viva Maya). I took the public van that goes from Playa del Carmen to Tulum, letting the driver know that I wanted to get off at Xplor. I paid 25 mex pesos about (2$ CAN) to get there. Took about 10-15 min. Lots of vans available. They leave as soon as full. The tricky part is that you get off across the street which is a highway. Not easy to cross. Definitely not recommended with children. The return was easier since you are on the correct side of the street. You can signal with your hand at the coming transportation and they will stop if they have room. Caught one within 5 min. Paid 10 mex pesos to return (1$ CAN). ZIPLINE I was lucky to be able to do all the activities once throughout the day. I started with the zipline and did both paths because once you give back the harness, you can't access that activity anymore; they mark your wristband. The remaining of the activities, I only (and barely) had time for 1 of the 2 paths. If I ever go back, I will do only 1 of the ziplines to have more time for the rest. The zipline was a fun experience but it takes a long time. 1 path has 7 "zips" from tower to tower and 1 has 9. Once you start, you have to finish the entire path. For those afraid of heights like me, it isn't so bad. The gliding part is smooth and not too fast. It was quite enjoyable. TOBOGANXOTE My favorite was the toboganxote (big waterslide). There isn't any part that is too steep and scary. It was just a very fun ride through funnels and curves in a tube of 4 people. If you are not 4, you will be grouped with others to make 4 as it is mandatory. CENOTES The 3 activities in the caves were fantastic! So pretty! The water is a little colder as I previously read (24 degrees) but it really didn't feel too bad. I get cold easily so I brought a wetsuit and didn't end up using it. I was ok all day with a t-shirt and shorts over my swimsuit. It was perfect for all the activities.

Fun place for teens and families! Be prepared to walk A LOT and climb many stairs especially if doing the ziplines which was not so easy in the blazing heat of the summer. Would have been easier if they had water stations between the ziplines or benches to catch your breathe for a second or two. (And we are all in pretty decent shape, so just a heads up if you have very young or older travelers with you, it’s not easy). The ATVs were awesome! That was probably our fav activity as well as the ziplines. The food was good and had a wide variety of choices. Loved all the photo spots and viewing our pics at the end of the day was great! It was crowded and we had to wait in some long lines but overall was a good experience.

Real value for money Inclusive transfers, all drinks at all stations (Go find the station that does smooties and fresh cookies) lunch and snacks. All activities included, we would do the whole day again and not xcaret. Jeep driving was great, did it twice so we did both routes. The zip lines, are the best we have done So many different routes, we managed to do just about every route. The centoes and cave routes, like nothing we have seen before. Unique cenotes. The rafting was fun, we bobbed along just in awe. The water is cold. Swimming through, you soon get used to the temp, but you can not stop from admiring the sides and depths of the caves
