You will learn about Ninja in Japan’s history and what kind of weapons and tools were used as they carried out covert missions. Your transformation into Ninja begins with the trained staff that will help you to choose and dress in traditional attire for your experience. . With an authentic background for your photos, you will appear to have stepped out of Japanese folklore. Photographs are wonderful souvenirs of your Ninja experience and so much fun to share with family and friends. Your trip to Kyoto will not be complete unless you visit the Kyoto Samurai and Ninja Museum where you will discover the traditions of Japan and enjoy the fresh seasonal delicacies served at the cultural center.

Kyudo is a Japanese martial art based on shooting an arrow from a Japanese bow to a target to reach a complete focus of mind and body. The main difference of kyudo and western archery is that, in kyudo, every movement follows a traditional routine that pays respect to the equipment and to the opponent. You will come to the archery range and dress in an authentic kyudo uniform, which will include dogi—the upper wear—and hakama—the lower wear. I'll give a brief explanation about the art of kyudo as well as instructions and demonstrations. With the knowledge you'll gain, you will learn to shoot arrows at the target. You'll also understand the fun and challenging aspect of the sport, particularly while wearing the traditional hakama and armor. Usually in kyudo, you are not allowed to pull the arrow unless you master the basics. But during our lesson, you will be able to enjoy the real kyudo experience even as a complete beginner. It will be a great time if you are looking for a nice photo or movie to show to your friends.
There is ninja training at the Ninja-Do. In addition, you can take lots of pictures in ninja costumes.
Tomoyoshi, the instructor, will give you a short lecture on how the ancient swordsmanship of Samurai developed into Kendo. He will share the heroic stories of ancient Samurai including his great-grandfather, Yoshishige Hayashi. He will also share the controversial influence of Bushido values on this nation and his family into extremism, especially during the period of WW2. He will end his story on how redemption came and led him to the current inner peace and the life of a pacifist.
After the lecture, you will wear the full Kendo armor and learn the basic Kendo movements. In the end, you will get to do a Kendo match with each other. Upon completing the workshop, you will receive a beautifully designed “Certificate of Experience”.

Samurai Kenbu Theater, a dojo (training gym) of Kenbu, offers both Kenbu show and lesson programs for Kyoto visitors. You can learn about, and practice, some aspects of the etiquette of samurai classes with a chance to try on a traditional costume as well as a show performed by Kenbu Masters. Our client's teacher, Kengo is a skilled Kendo player who started Kendo at the age of 3 and won 3rd place in the Japan tournament. I am very confident in my Kendo skills and knowledge. You can learn about the culture of the Samurai through this experience. The main event of the experience is cutting tatami mats using a Japanese sword. Please rest assured that Kengo will provide careful guidance. We will also be happy to help with video and photo shoots.
