On this personalized photography workshop in Hobart you will discover some hidden photographic gems in the foothills of Mt Wellington, and then shoot a magnificent sunset from the Eastern Shore, as the city skyline sparkles into life under the imposing backdrop of Mt Wellington. Designed for beginner to intermediate photographers, a digital SLR and tripod is essential (tripod can be supplied), as the workshop will bring out the best of you and your camera. We will discuss tips and techniques to improve your image taking while in the field in some truly beautiful locations. This is a self drive workshop. Start time is approx 3 hours prior to sunset. A half day Mount Wellington exploration that is beyond a passing glance. This tour drives you to classic Cascade Gardens with rich history, resilient snow gum forest, diverse rock formation and incredible panoramic views. Stopping at six sites for enriched experience.
Start with a 25minute scenic drive to the Chalet before walking the easy graded Organ Pipes Track (90 minutes). Take in the towering cliffs, snow gums and panoramic views of Hobart and surrounds. You will have a Local guide with a university level understanding of the mountain who knew the early hiking pioneers and can tell their stories. Then it’s time to drive to the summit. On the arrival of the mountain top, there is 35minute walk and scramble onto the trig point, an easy stroll to lookouts for amazing views of much of Tasmania. Also have a close up look at the unique alpine vegetation and geology. Then more remarkable views on the 35minute drive back to Hobart.

Bruny Island is known for its excellent, locally produced food. On this tour we will visit the Bruny Island Cheese Co, Get Shucked (oysters), Bruny Island Chocolate Factory, The Honey Pot, Bruny Island Premium Wines and the House of Whiskey. We will visit the Bruny Baker Fridge, climb the steps to Truganini Lookout and enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of the landscape (optional). If we are lucky, we may even spot famous white wallabies which are native to the island and one of the only places in Australia where you'll have a good chance of seeing one.
