A half day Mount Wellington exploration that is beyond a passing glance. This tour drives you to classic Cascade Gardens with rich history, resilient snow gum forest, diverse rock formation and incredible panoramic views. Stopping at six sites for enriched experience.
Start with a 25minute scenic drive to the Chalet before walking the easy graded Organ Pipes Track (90 minutes). Take in the towering cliffs, snow gums and panoramic views of Hobart and surrounds. You will have a Local guide with a university level understanding of the mountain who knew the early hiking pioneers and can tell their stories. Then it’s time to drive to the summit. On the arrival of the mountain top, there is 35minute walk and scramble onto the trig point, an easy stroll to lookouts for amazing views of much of Tasmania. Also have a close up look at the unique alpine vegetation and geology. Then more remarkable views on the 35minute drive back to Hobart.
