Looking to get your hands dirty and learn a new skill? Look no further than Peak View Pottery, Rachel Collyer's pottery studio in Sheffield.
Rachel's pottery classes offer a fun and relaxed environment where you can learn the basics of hand-building pottery techniques, including slab, coil building, and pinch pots. If you would like to make functional pottery like a mug, plate or bowl, a wine cooler or utensil holder, or a wand with your own personal handgrip, help is at hand to create your masterpieces.
Suitable for beginners and experienced potters alike.
Take inspiration from Japanese nature to create your own unique ceramic artwork.
Using a hand wheel, each participant will create a piece of pottery. Please spend ample time with clay in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Your work will be completed to you in about a month. (If you wish to have it shipped, shipping fee will be charged separately.)

Learn from Katja, a ceramic product designer who makes products for different occasions - home accessories, lighting and everyday objects. Her work is functional in origin whilst being playful and thoughtful.
Her personalized 1:1 studio sessions are tailored to your skill level, interests, and goals. No prior art experience is required, making this inclusive for families, children, the elderly, and those with special needs.
This dedicated time is all about you, as Katja will guide you through the entire process, allowing you to learn at your own pace, grow, connect meaningfully with a master, and even discover a new part of the world. In your free time, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Lake Bled or hike in the stunning surrounding forest.
In this class you will learn from the basic clay source and type of ceramic, and using wheel throwing machine with the hand technique to solid the clay and form in to any shape you want.
You will experimenting with 3 kg of clay and can make as much as shape you wish. Choose the best 3 one to bring home and if you want to have fully glaze and bake ceramic we can help for that. The class is held in our own factory where you can see all the tools, materials, and machinery that we use in our daily activity of ceramic and pottery business.

What makes our pottery workshop special is first we are the only pottery studio in Pai that provides workshops, secondly our creative space is one of a kind, we breathe and live creativety everyday and through our space we try to connect creatives in Pai, our space is located out of town in the oldest part of Pai, surrounded by nature, little disturbance, perfect for sparking ideas. At the kiln, the owner of the kiln himself will tell you about the history of Agano ware and its attractions. Deepen your understanding of Agano pottery through this activity of the studio, a pottery-making experience (one piece per person) and a tea ceremony at Agano pottery.
Local guides who are familiar with Fukuchi Town and Agano pottery will also assist visitors. At the direct sales facilities where works from the various potteries of Agano ware are gathered, you can also talk about the characteristics of each of them.
