The Gallery is the part of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj behind which lies the most interesting and oldest history, made up of nobility, politics and the unions between some of the most important noble families.
The Masterpieces: the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj has housed for centuries this unique private collection. It is not only the quality and the value of the masterpieces that is remarkable but also their great number: there are so many that completely cover of the walls of the apartments and the wings of the fantastic galleries. The Orangerie Museum (Musée de l’Orangerie), situated inside the Tuileries garden, is a little museum with surprising collections. They are particularly emphasized by the Water Lilies (Les Nymphéas) by Claude Monet, a series of 250 impressionist paintings depicting the artist’s flower garden at Giverny.

The Casa Azul speaks of the loves of Frida and Diego, and of their admiration for Mexican culture and art. In the “Artist’s Bedroom,” you’ll find her four-poster bed with the mirror that her mother had installed after the accident. There, immobile for nine months, Frida began to paint. In the “Studio” you’ll find the easel that Nelson Rockefeller gave her. The crutches, corsets, and medicines attest to the surgeries and physical ailments she suffered. The ex-votos, toys, clothing, and jewelry speak of Frida as a collector and lover of beauty. The “Kitchen”—typical of traditional Mexican homes—reflects everyday life in the house.
